Help!

Okay new to Etsy and this selling online thing. I create graphics for instant download to use on iPhones, iPads, tablets, and the like. I put a lot of time and effort into each design and also follow and like a lot of other Etsy members stores and items to get more traffic. But that is all I am getting is traffic. No sales, no revenue. I use all 13 tags and provide a high quality picture of the item. My titles are all the same. What should i do? Change the titles? My pricing is competitive to other designers in my field for their work on other websites. Is it still too high for an instant download? I also have a BS in Graphic Design so I have experience and knowledge. I also want to do custom work as well. Should i also change my About page more?

Be brutal. Believe me I can take it.

Thanks!!

Re: Help!

As a graphic designer I assure you that your wallpapers are beautiful!
I really mean that! =)
But in our days background wallpapers, etc are very underastimated to sell them cause of internet (so many free things to download , you know) =(

And if I was in your shoes in etsy I would place a little bit lower prices.

Also try to put on your item details what makes your item special! Make the buyer take a feeling from what he/she sees . Make them appriciate the art and make them express THEIR feelings through your art!

One more thing
Your names are all the same. Wrong! Give in your items character with key words! for example-> think : What would you type on search to find a specific background? Or a specific kind of art?! (I hope you can understan me >.< )
You are probably have done the same mistake with tags. I hope not! :) make your tags with phrases that someone would type on search

I hope I helped ya! Good luck :)

Re: Help!

So first of all don't worry about not having a sale, it's frustrating, but it really takes time. Etsy has had a snowball effect for me, the I'm finally (after a year and 300+) Items starting to make a profit. (sort of)

Craft an about page. Second, wow you picked a hard niche! Since people can download free backgrounds it unfortunatly bring the perceived value of your product down. What about offering notecards/post card or mini prints? (You could also offer the same in a local coffee or art shop..) Cheaper items sell while you wait for more expensive items to go.

That being said, I would consider buying a physical picture printed and mailed to me for that cost, but not an instant download. Also I think your pictures are lovely however the watermark is all I can see on some of them. Hm..

Seo, always Seo.. Here is a shop critique checklist:

Re: Help!

I agree with changing the names of your items so that they are different. That will help people find them better. And I clicked on one item and saw you hadn't used all the keywords. Consider using all 13. Also, my father-in-law says "Facts tell. Stories sell." Haha. So he is always encouraging me to tell a "story" about my products because if people can feel an emotional connection, they will want them more. So maybe you could have more detailed descriptions on your listings. Maybe describe the feelings they evoke or what inspired you to create them. Good luck!

Re: Help!

Your photos and set up is great. Do people suggest that same and similar titles are a better idea? I have never read that before. I personally feel like maybe slight differences in that way are better. Everyone has a different mind - they will type and look for items in a different way. You have a great eye and your designs are great. One suggestion and things I did to help get ball rolling - I made friends with other Etsy community members. We each purchased from each other and then gave honest feedback on reviews. Reviews help big time. Once your ball gets rolling you are going to do great!! There are also support groups on Facebook to utilize and Instagram brings in much traffic for me as well. Good luck to you!!!

Re: Help!

Been there! I'm jewelry artist who has been selling on Etsy since 2010. It started out great and I had tons of sales and great traffic, but with all the Etsy changes and more sellers fooding the platform, standing out became much harder and my sales slowed to a trickle.  I was seriously about to give up. THIS was my game changer. I am a real person with a real business, both on and off Etsy and THIS is how I turned a hobby into my day job... No sales pitch, no money required, just free tips that you can put into practice today... This is the number one viral handmade business training video of the year. You'll see why. https://rewelliott.com/cupcakesecret/

I also have started a new FB group with the guidance of my business coach and mentor. I hope you will come and ask questions, offer your own advice to others, and learn more about what it takes to grow your handcrafted business into the one you've always dreamed of. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cupcakecreative

Disclosure: I aim to highlight products and services you might find interesting, and if you buy future items from those companies, I may receive small share of the revenue from the sale from our partner, Cupcake Trainings LLC.
