Re: Don't Get It ???

I am new to this as a seller so please take these with a grain of salt since I have not sold anything yet either. Your art is very interesting and I enjoy some of your pieces. Some of the descriptions have spelling errors which may have an effect. If it is not spelled correctly people may not even find them. The piece "ASSIMILATE - GICLEE - Absrtact - Modern Art" has abstract spelled incorrectly. even one of your sections(abstract) has an error.
I initially assumed the prints were on canvas and thought your prices were really reasonable, but then noticed that they were on photo paper. Are they mounted in any way or are they shipped rolled up like a poster? If they are not mounted, some people may find them to be a little high in price. I personally would love to see some of these on canvas with a gallery wrap frame. I hope this helps a little.

I agree with what Ryan says. I think your policies are great!
I also think your titles, descriptions and tags are good also.
Do you use social media? If not you should.
Best ones to start with would be: facebook, twitter, pinterest, google plus.
There are so many more..but these are the most widely used first.

Re: Don't Get It ???

I have only sold one thing (to a friend) and been with Etsy longer than you, so I often wonder as well what makes one thing sell and another not. I don't think you can fully rely on Etsy alone as a selling mechanism. If you check the things that sell the most at http://craftcount.com it seems to be cheap jewellery, craft supplies and cushion covers. I suspect that the main people surfing Etsy on a regular basis are other sellers and young women who like fashionable decor. We both need to attract our buyers to Etsy somehow.

Being an exhibiting visual artist in the past, I can tell you that there is always someone out there who will like your work and buy it no matter the price, but finding them is the issue.

I also agree that having some of your originals for sale might help. You could still sell the prints. Also possibly show some of the prints in a frame (don't have to sell the frame). It helps people visualise the artwork in their home. As with all advice, this is just a maybe - take it or leave it as it may have nothing to do with why you aren't selling - just possible suggestions to try.

Good luck!

Re: Don't Get It ???

Hi. You have some really lovely pieces. But I have to second the spell/grammer check.
For example "Thanks you and enjoy art is calms the soul." Say what?
Try " Thank you and enjoy art. It calms the soul."

I also would love to see the piece framed and hung on a wall, both for scale and an idea of how it would look in a home or office.

I also think canvas wraps would be an awesome option! Check out: www.cgproprints.com for reasonable priced prints with good color accuracy.

Best of Luck, I'm sure sales will come soon! Get involved on some teams and check out the forums. They can help regarding tags, seo, etc.

Re: Don't Get It ???

Hello L.J.
Your art really is great, I truly like it. I agree with the other critics regarding spelling, and showing your art in a frame for reference.
Also, I had a thought, not sure if I'm on to something or not but here goes....People that are mildly aware (never been on etsy but heard about it) of etsy usually think that the items for sale are junky crafty crap. SO my question to you is when you go to art shows, facebook, etc do you let them know you are also on etsy??? this might help people realize that they can find wonderful art like yours on a website they thought was just junky crafts.

best of luck!! when I buy a home someday im gonna get a piece from u.

Re: Don't Get It ???

1000 visitors since March suggests your art is fantastic and you are getting them in the door. I would like to know in each description what you were thinking when you painted it rather than what your friends would see.
I agree too I would like to see them from a distance next to a lounge or table so I could think yes that would go with my lounge or yes I can see that in my hallway.

Re: Don't Get It ???

I think you should try to list compound words in the keywords section instead of single words. For example, instead of listing "abstract", you could try to use "abstract art" or "abstract painting". That could work more. Look for more ideas in an SEO group.
