What do you think about a "Less Than Perfect" shop category?

I have been working on some things for my shop. I follow a pattern or figure it on my own, but sometimes, the item comes out less than exactly what I want it to be in way of looks or style. For instance, a corner of the binding is not exact, or a stitch here and there are not straight or maybe the item is just a bit wonky. Granted most that don't sew wouldn't even notice and maybe some that do wouldn't either, but for me.. I want my items to be as close to perfect as possible or I don't feel I can sell them. I mean not only my own satisfaction, but if a buyer gets an item adn they aren't happy with it, means return and possibly bad feedback etc for me.

But... most of these things are not "bad"...just off some. Slight imperfections. For instance I have made some mug rugs and in using the 1 inch binding method...the borders are t hick, they are not exactly straight and the corners are a bit wonky and the edges are a bit thick. I see it, others might not, but I don't want to sell them like that. So I started using a larger binding strip of 1,3/4 inches and that solved the problem and everything looks good! I tend to do assembly line style sewing on things...and in this case...just cut several mug rugs, did all the machine sewing on all of t hem, then did all the hand sewing on all of them. So I had several done wit the 1 inch binding.

But..what do I do with all those that I made with the 1 inch binding? They are not perfect but they also are not all that bad either. I was thinking of making a category in my shop called "Less Than Perfect" and selling them for a discounted price....explaining why of course. Saying there are slight imperfections etc.

What does everyone think of this idea? I don't want to "thrift store" my shop, but at the same time...these kinds of items aren't junky, they just aren't up to my standards to sell as a main product in my shop.

Personally, I just want my best work in my shop so that I can get repeat fans...be they customers or others who just like my creations.

I think you should, ceramic places sell seconds, just make it clear they're not perfect x

I think less than perfect is a great idea for items. And when it comes to handmade, it's those items you are happiest with that would be the "perfect" ones and the others can go in that other category.
