Re: share!

I love textiles! Denim, t-shirts, retired upholstery swatch books, All kinds of things that would otherwise occupy the land fill.

Re: share!

So far I like using soda tabs for my basic designs and build on them using hardware items. I'm still toying with ideas and am always open to suggestions.

Re: share!

Absolutely- Found Objects!! I am excited to find them and the ideas and designs keep me awake at night. Not always a bad thing! Sometimes I have a little trouble giving up an object for a project and they hang around WAY longer than they should. But from the thrill of the find to the end result, I love them.

Today it is the gorgeous canceled stamps from my dad's ham radio correspondence that he has saved for the last 12 years and he gave them all to me.

Re: share!

Fabric of all types and from sources. Love making things from old fabrics from my Grandma's stash or estate sales. I wish I knew the story behind each piece of fabric, you know there must be one. What was the purchaser dreaming of making with it? It is so much more fulfilling for me to reuse/use old fabric versus going to the fabric store and buying new fabric. I love the challenge of making something with an odd assortment of found fabrics.

Anything Wool Is my fave! I never knew that it could be made into so many textures. I always challenge myself to make something with as little sewing, cutting etc from something already made. (like my jackets to purses.)

Re: share!

I upcycle wine corks and barrel staves. Even the hangers for my message boards are an upcycled pop tab.
