Re: Goals for 2013

Good idea, Mori! I'm still pondering these, I don't think I'll be able to give them proper thought until after xmas.

Re: Goals for 2013

I've actually already thought about this. I have huge goals for 2013!

1. Get a web site
2. Get my hats in bricks & mortar stores (wholesale preferably)
3. Design some bridal hats/veils/headpieces.
4. I forget what the fourth one was. Oops!

Re: Goals for 2013

Want to improve my photos on my page.

Want to update my listings to be more detailed in options available.

Complete some sweaters and post new listings for new items.

Find time to make a light box for better photos.

Re: Goals for 2013

I typed my goals out on my phone the other night when I couldn't sleep. At least I felt productive!

1. Have 100 sales in 2013
2. Try at least 5 new items in the shop
3. Make seasonal items in plenty of time
4. Get items to come up on first page of search results - tweak tags/keywords/titles as needed
5. Look into craft fairs 2nd half of the year
6. Promote off Etsy as much as possible (on my personal facebook and blog, for starters)

I really want to take sewing from a hobby to a part time job. I'm confident that eventually I can get to that level. I'm also realistic that it might take years to get there! ;)

Re: Goals for 2013

I'm looking at another business expansion phase sometime in 2013. But I've got to look at the financials first to see just how its going to fit.

Re: Goals for 2013

I hope that 2013 will be awesome for all of us! Here are my goals to help make it so for me :)
1 - At least one new costume item per month.
2 - 300 listings. I would like to have that fairly evenly split if possible between custom listings, ready to go items and supplies
3 - to keep up with the financial books. My goal is that at the end of every month to go over that month's profit/loss and make sure I have everything ready for next tax season (not looking forward to this one!)
4 - more promotion
5 - at least 2 in person shows. I have one at the end of January, so at least one more. This is hard for me, as I do not own a large vehicle or a tent any longer and both are requirements to being able to schlep my stuff to Renaissance Faires
6 - My hope is to hit 1500 Etsy sales by the end of next year. I started this year at just over 300 and am *so* close to 800 so I think it's doable, I just need to keep up on all the other things on my list! :D

I have others, like getting a website back up again, but I may also be going back to school, so I am trying to be realistic as well as doing stretch goals :)

Re: Goals for 2013

I have ambitious goals for 2013 as I have decided this will be the year I either "make it or break it".

1. Get up to 1000 sales (i'm just under 430 now so I don't think thats impossible)
2. Work on SEO and Relevancy
3. Keep my blog updated and add some tutorials and other "sticky" content
4. Add new product lines, eliminate the ones that don't sell, and expand the ones that do
5. Get featured on two blogs
6. Get my work into some local boutiques
7. Expand my Facebook and Twitter following to include more non-etsians (as in other shop owners)
8. Earn enough revenue to pay at least 1/4 ofthe household bills every month

Re: Goals for 2013

I have a number of goals for 2013, but one in particular that I'm mulling over today is the idea of selling more locally. I'm in the Houston area, but most of my sales go to the east and west coasts and the upper midwest. I'd love to see an increase in local sales. This might mean targeted advertising, or it might mean selling at farmers' markets or brick and mortar shops.

Re: Goals for 2013

I've just recently started thinking about what to do with my Etsy shop, wether it's worth it or not. I decided it's worth it.
I've therefore decided I should give it a fair chance during two months at least. During January and February I hope to achieve the following:

- Reach 100 listings.
- Sell at least one item during January and one during February.
- Don't list for more than $15 if I don't get it back in sales by February, try to find other ways to get sales.
- Focus on new items and promote more on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Use up certain marked materials at home before buying anything new.
- Have fun and enjoy the process.
- Be more active in teams.

4. continue promoting fellow team mates and putting more effort into the teams I've started.

Re: Goals for 2013

For 2013 for MKissaCreations

Get a proper business license
Open a business only bank account
Sell at at least one show
Post a new item every day in January
Reach up to 100 listings
Get business cards for the flower/wedding aspect of my store
Bring sample bouquets to local wedding dress shops

My shop has been open for a full year, but for a majority of that year it hasn't had much in it. The second half of the year for me was really a trial to see if there was any interest in my items... and there is! So now my goals are really focused on QUITTING MY DAY JOB!! :)

Happy New Year Everyone! Best of luck with your goals!

Re: Goals for 2013

Thanks Mori for giving us a place to post our goals. I've marked this thread so I can come back and check on myself.

I have three main goals for ApronFreeCooking
1. Continue to add products. Vintage cookbooks are the best sellers, so I need to do some scouting trips and expand that offering.
2. Promote daily. I'm using my blog, Facebook and personal contacts. Am considering Pinterest as an additional promotional avenue.
3. Add international shipping and open the doors for the world of customers outside the US.

I've also opened a 2nd store: Noel'sVintageBooks. The goals for that store are basic.
1. Increase product listings, at least one per day through January. Then continue expanding the listings.
2. Promote - get the word out, nobody knows about it yet since I just opened this store.
3. Have views increase month over month, so the sales will start.

2013 is going to be a busy and successful year!

Re: Goals for 2013

1. Make/List more new items.

2. Make/List Seasonal items in a more timely manner- for all the upcoming holidays/events.

3. Keep up with current trends better.

4. Double my sales from this year- which should be achievable, especially if I fulfill the first 3 goals
