My celebration: Since opening on January 11 with this shop, I have averaged 150 views per day, got my listings to 45, and had 6 sales!!!

I finished my first day at a multi-week art market and I didn't die. I sold enough to ensure that I'll be very busy preparing for the next weekend, and I made enough to cover three days worth of table fees so far. Woo!

50 items in my shop milestone!!!! It took a lot of work and planing but I finally have 50 items in my shop! My total goal is to have around 150, because I've done lots of research and shops selling similar items and price points seem to have real "quit your day job" success with that number. But I'm SO HAPPY to reach 50 items maker on the way to my goal!

Well done Sarah! We loved hitting that milestone in our Photography store, not too far away from it in this one either :D

We sold 3 prints this week :D 2 from this shop and 1 from the photog shop.. best week we've had!

YAY! Today I made my first Etsy sale! I was doing the happy dance!! Next goal, more products in my store... grins ...

I have just quit my day job! Literally 20 minutes ago!

Now, let me be clear, this is not because I am making millions and can have my Etsy shop as my sole source of income - far from it. Unfortunately I had my annual review at my day job and needed to sign a new contract and clauses within it mean I would have to either quit Nearer The Moon or my day job.

I don't want to be one of those people who says 'What if....?' all my life, the only responsibility I have in my life is my rent and my phone bill - there will never be a time in my life where I have fewer things tying me down. I have 3 months (3 month notice period) to find myself a part time job to make sure my rent is covered and I can eat more than beans on toast every day.

I know this is going to be an uphill struggle but I am so flipping excited!

Any tips, tricks, or spells to sell my soul so I can be sure this works out are greatly welcomed, as are criticisms - constructive or not - of my shop etc. I need all the help I can get now!

I am celebrating being able to make 6 new things for my store. Hand painted ceramics can take an extensive amount of time. Especially if you try to make the cutest piece that people will treasure forever.
