Lids

Ha ha - seeing some listings got me to thinking that if someone found a stash of vintage Pyrex lids somewhere they could make a mint!

Re: Lids

I always pick up lonely lids when I see them -- you never know when you'll need one!

Re: Lids

I agree! I never pass up lids! If I should happen to find a listing for a #471 - #475..I am not so hesitant to bid on it or buy it if I have a lid in my "lid stash"!!! Great discussion :)
(I also snatch up ANY refrigerator lids..those are quite valuable..)

Re: Lids

Me too, got a few, but just need to find the time to get those photos done. I struggle to decide to buy the clear glass lids round lids, I need to start carrying a measuring tape in my purse and a list of what size of lids fit with what.

Re: Lids

I've been wondering if I should be buying lids. If they're clear glass, are they always marked with the Pyrex name? Do they usually have any other information regarding size or model number?

Best,
Melissa

Re: Lids

I was lucky enough to find the lids for casserole dishes I've had for years. The lids are usually available at yard sales for almost nothing.
A funny purchase I made not too long ago is a box of pot lids. Most of these are metal enamel pot lids. I love the colors and want to put them up in my kitchen.

Re: Lids

After reading this posting I did find a Friendship lid for a small bowl. I snatched it up and just listed it today. I'm anxious to see how it goes.

Re: Lids

Kristina - as a pyrex buyer I would find it useful if you included the number from the lid, look carefully it's usually on the outer edge

Re: Lids

Hmmm, I've got a ton of lids living in my oven (storage space problems, snort), so maybe I should start listing them... :)
