History of my handmade work called ,
'Kazaz' (also known as Kazazlık or Kazaziye) wire is either pure silver or pure gold wire which has thickness of 0,08mm and it is wrapped on silk or nylon thread. Kazaz is a local art from city Trabzon in Blacksea region of Turkey. Kazaz wire is mainly used for making jewelry such as necklaces, pendants, earrings, and rings as well as for making prayer beads.This art was born in Mesopotamia area by Lydians in 2800BC and later came to Anatolia. During Ottoman Empire times, this art was more common, but today it is almost only made in Trabzon.
