In this thread, post any methods you might have for getting noticed and moving your product!

Share your expertise with the rest of your Teammates, so that we may all be successful!

This is a Q&A Thread!

PS Tip and Trick:
Play the silly thread games for the same reason! You can't help yourself if you don't play, and you cant help others if you don't play...AND THEY CAN'T HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T PLAY, or IF THEY DON'T PLAY! Win, win, or lose, lose, we do it together. Your sales or lack there of are all dependent upon how much work you put into your store

For those of you who are intimidated by the threads, don't be. You will find that most members are really down to earth and wanting to help you!

If you have a game suggestion, please feel free to PM me! If you think your team members can help you in other ways, PM me with suggestions!

Talk to each other! Find out what your family needs from you, and what they can offer in terms of advice and promotion. There are links of the left hand side of the main page to help promotion as well.

Don't be scared, interact!

The more you talk to other team members, the better your views to your store. If you are friends, that's great! There are some amazing people on here. Get to know them.

Lacey asked me to share with you all. Hang in there because it's long but the payoff, I think. is atronomical.
Not bragging just sharing a 15 minute routine that has gained me since Feb 14 when I opened, 5000 views, 6500favs (top 2 Treasuries 772, Team, 566
My average day is aroung 150 favs but yesterday I broke the 200 make for the first time, with Treasuries 1 at 31 and Teams, sadly 2nd with 6.
And today by 9 am I am already at 54.
Out of all this only 23 sales but we all know how key hearting is!

These might not be impressive numbers t u because I have nothing to compare mine to except when I look at some of the stats my mouth drops.
So if interested, here is my less than 15 minutes routine.

1. Check email and convo any new followers. Can share standard response in wanted.
2. Check convos and respond if they r short or if I have time for long ones.
3. Play at least 2 games in each of my 3 teams. Add items I like to Treasury.
4. Make 2 Treasuries. May sound like overkill but just look at my stats and how much promotion I get from making them.Plus Etsy is a community for helping one another and Treasuries are great ways to do so. There is a really really quick way to make Treasuries from BrittanysBest but I don't have link in front of me. Will add. Be sure to send notifications. Once I pick my 16 items, it takes 3 minutes to create Treasury.
5. Respond to one or two questions in a forum that has less than 20 responses. Doing this daily eventually gets ur shop more noticed and fellow responders come to view and fav ur shop.

Does that sound like a lot? Sorry but I swear it isn't. I do this first thing in the am and most days early evening for the international folks.

Love to hear what u think or even better, more tricks for getting more favs.

To test it, note ur stats for today, give it a week, and see if those numbers change. Bet they do! Good luck

I stopped doing it for items because of the spam possibility, and also because of the members who play the games, I really don't want to spam people over and over with coupons just for playing the thread games. But if someone likes my store, I still offer them a coupon.

I have it listed that I will do so in every listing, on my pain page, and on my personal profile. And, since you cannot favorite a page without clicking on the main page, I feel it should be alright.

Collaboration Nation!

I am currently collaborating with our Bruce Springsteen Fanatic, and I think everyone should try it at least once. Find something your shop needs and collaborate with someone on it! It doesn't have to be an actual product, it could be an idea, a different approach to something, or a new design. Work out the details between yourselves and something amazing could come out of it!

Alyssa, are u calling me a Springsteen Fanatic? The Nerve!
Seriously, Alyssa made a great point. I need jewelry for my shop but can't make it. I really admired Alyssa's work and it dawned on me to approach her with my idea, which was her beadwork, but with a guitar pick and electric guitar charm. Wait till u see them!
I was really nervous about how she would respond, but not only is she a delight to collaborate with, she is a great friend.

I am probably not going to make a lot of cash BUT these are going to be fantastic draws to my shop. So I suggest think out of the box of something u would love to have in ur shop but can't produce yourself and find a team member who can.

I bet these will be by far my most popular items and since I came up wth the concept and picked out colors, etc. it is aok for me to list.

maegan-- Depending on which area you're in, art shows can be great ways to meet some fellow vendors and network yourself, you may even make some money! I've done art shows for a long time and it can be hit or miss depending on the time of year, the weather, the economy, and what else is going on in the same weekend. These are all things you need to consider before committing any time or money into a show.

Next- booth setup is crucial. You don't want it to appear cluttered, but you don't want your stuff too spread out either. Pick a booth design that will showcase every aspect of your work.

If you feel like art show is too garage saley, price your items accordingly. It's better to lose some money than make none at all. Also, work with vendors; offer a discount geared specifically for them or trade items! Networking is one of the major keys to successful businesses, so make friends. Often times different vendors will have the scoop on different shows.

on inventory- make sure you have enough! I know that sounds like common sense, but you never know how well you will do, and you want to be sure you have enough for the entire show, especially if it's longer than a day. So if your product is not something that you can replenish overnight, make sure you have over the amount you think you need.

and last, but certainly not least, NEVER pack out early. I don't care if other vendors are doing it, it's horrible vendor ettiquette, and most shows will not allow you to come back. Remember that show facilitators talk to each other. if you're rude and have bad manners, you may not be accepted to other shows!

Now to answer your question :) I have done art shows with jewelry, photography, christmas ornaments, birdhouses, birdfeeder and luminaries. {obviously at different times}. I have noticed that jewelry, bath products, photography, glass, and paintings can be hugely hit or miss, but they usually do very well. Clothing in general does well; as does the "different" type of artwork. The best way to guage a show is by asking the vendors :)

Tip and Trick -- Sale-A-Thon

The Sale-A-Thon has been running for several months now and has great success for many members. Even if you do not make a sale through the event, your posted items get favorited by every player that month. That is a LOT of views for your items and your store. During the Event is my busiest time of the month, just because so many people play and favorite all my store items. I recommend checking out the Team events each month!

The more participants, the more views for our stores!

Karen-I love your routine! I'm going to give it a try first thing in the morning. I have tried a few of your tips before but always have a hard time getting into a routine/habit of doing them everyday. I'm going to try it out this week and see if I can stick to it. Thanks!

Tip and Trick -- Listings Listing :)

So you know when you are playing Thread games and it gets annoying to have multiple Etsy pages open, or having to backspace through listings to play games like 'Post 2, Fave 10'? Well, you can solve that by making a link doc.

I personally have all of my listings URLs saved on a word doc. Whenever I play a game such as Post 2, Fave 10, I just pull up my web address word document and copy two links, and paste them in the game. It saves a bunch of time.

This list also saves a bunch of time when I play the monthly Sale-A-Thon Event. I just copy 5 URLs at a time, and paste them in the reply section. It makes posting 100 + listings easy!

Well, that's my Tip for today. :)

@Karen Lange

do you have some favourite promo teams that you go to? or do you change often?

i haven't been as dedicated as you towards playing thread games, but also since i've been much more aware lately of people who don't play fairly, so I kind of give up on that team.

advice? ( ->> these questions are free to anyone actually ^_^ )
