SEO and Stats help

Hi Guys!

I'm new here and was wondering whether anyone can help me with a few questions about SEO and Stats. (Apologies if these questions have already been asked!)

-My views are really up and down with my shop I'm not sure whether it is to do with this time of year or if I need to work more on my tags?

-Stats- I was wondering if anyone knows how to use the stats to their best advantage. For example if one of the key words typed into the search was 'pompom scarf' and it showed up my pompom scarf should I make more tags for that item with the word pompom in??

Basically what I think I'm trying to say is that I need help with tags!

OKay so I was looking at your tags, looks good. There good tags, but will anyone use them? Because I would search up ..red scarf Or red Christmas scarf instead of Christmas scarf. Make sure you always have colours involved.. Because the buyer will want a certain colour so they will type that into the search box.

Tags to use if you want
Red knitted scarf
Uk Knitted scarf
Dark red knitted scarf
Lambswool scarf
universal scarf

Try mixing them up... But that's what someone would type into the search box.. every week try to change them up until you start having views coming from the searches

I checked out this listing.,. Make sure you don't use 1 words like winter, knitting, knit ,scarf

Maybe use something like this

Thank you so much for your help! I will definitely have to have a read of those links and brainstorm some words. I think I have just been too complicated with the tags but it's really useful to get another perspective!

My biggest tip to you is to remember to:
1. Forget FAVORITES - those are all Etsians - lol
2. Tags - you forgot BACK TO SCHOOL - GIFT FOR HER - GIRLS GIFTS - etc
3. When starting out - go into Etsy as a shopper and look at their group listings - what comes up as the primary categories for your product lines and use them if you have extra tags open
4. Forget Cutsie titles - Straight forward titles also help pull up your product in search engines

I just increased my tags to use all and tried to pick ones that sounded search able but I know that some need to be reworked. My goal is to have a go-to list of best tags. Any suggestions are welcome.

Kate - perhaps make your intro a bit more fun and inviting. That is what is seen on your google ad pull ups as well and if it doesn't grab the viewer's attention...

Janice - WOW - Fun shop! Try the words unique - one of a kind - coin collectors - rare coins - for your fun coin jewelry. For your color cards, Just for Kids, Gifts for children, Gifts for kids, kids cards, etc... The options are just out there with your shop! I love the diversity of it. Oh, I did notice you haven't put out your basic information blurb that people see when they enter your shop. It is at the top of the page under the page photo. For you, there is nothing there... Which means, when your shop is googled, there is absolutely no information given to people when your shop name comes up. Bit of an OOPS.

Under the heading Info and Appearance there is a space called SHOP ANNOUNCEMENT - This is where you put your SALES - a quick invite to the shop - something to grab a persons attention. This is also seen when your shop is pulled up everywhere off of Etsy so make it fun and attention grabbing. A box should pop up as you are typing to show you what it will look like on Google and other sites so you know when to tighten up the intro. Ok, am done monologue-ing!!
