Introduce yourself to the team.

I'm a card maker. I have been making cards since 1999. I'm married to a wonderful man who supports everything I do. We have two cats that serve as spoiled rotten children. I am a child of God and try to live by the rule of treat everyone like you would like to be treated. So lets get the card sales up and have each other promote their items.

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hi -- so glad to receive the invitation to join this team!! I've been making cards for about 10 years. I recently branched out and started making decorative boxes and small shadowboxes, too! My husband and I moved into an almost-100-year old house three years ago which is our work in progress. We have one dog who will be 13 years old in October. She is so sweet and the best dog ever!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

I have been making cards throughout my adult life; mostly from construction paper; and colored pencils. I also painted some with oil and acrylics, and enjoyed doing that. I never felt like my Art was good enough, so I never displayed my Art; and never attempted to sell it.

A couple of years ago, when my youngest son was in grade school; he and I attended a summer art camp. It was at the camp, that my love for watercolors began. I bought 'how-to' watercolor books, and started to experiment with watercolors; and taught myself how to paint. I also learned that everyone has their own 'gift' and we all create differently. I finally learned to like my Art, and decided in 2011 that I was ready to 'share' my gift with the public, and opened my shop.

At first, I only had watercolor paintings listed. The following year, I listed watercolor cards. Since a card is smaller than a painting, I find that I enjoy painting cards more than larger pieces of art. I also have gift tags and bags.

Inspiration for my Art begins as soon as I step out my door. I am blessed to live in a log home, surrounded by trees, and mountains. I share my home with my husband of 30 years, and we have two boys, 15 and 20 years old.

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

I've been a crafter of sorts for most of my life. But started scrapbooking in 2003 (don't do much scrapbooking lately), I started to focus on card making (and other paper crafting) a few years ago, and opened my Etsy shop in March of this year. I wish I could spend more of my time on my card making, but I have a day job that pays the bills. My weekends are my time where I spend time in my "happy place" (my craft room). I am addicted to all the crafting supplies -- paper is my obsession! That and pens -- I recently started working with Copic makers. I love them, but still very much a beginner with them.

I live in Massachusetts (born and raised) with my husband and one daughter (11 yrs old).

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hi Ladies! It's great to meet all of you :) I went and peeked at each of your Etsy shops before responding. I'm honored to be asked to join a group of such talented ladies!

I live in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin with my wonderfully supportive hubby of 7 years and my 3 children…Gunnar, 12 yrs; Gavin, 6 yrs and Greta 4 yrs. I also work full-time as an in-home daycare provider. I've also a Stampin' Up Demostrator for 4 years. I offer a couple of stamping classes each month and the cards I put on Etsy are the card we make at class. I love my "real" job, but hope to build my card making business into a full-time job.

For me, stamping in my crafting space is my "Amy" time and stress reliever. I love the creative outlet that stamping gives me.

I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and helping each other promote our businesses.

Blessings,
Amy

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Wow Amy you have a lot of cards. I hand picked this team for starters. Anyone I have been following over the last 2+ years. That makes really good cards. I wanted a team of talented crafters. It is still missing a few people. Plus I'm sure I left someone out.

Everyone of you make awesome cards.

Hi - I live in No. Virginia with my pug Theo. I've been making cards for a little over 2 years now. I discovered rubber stamps when making invites for my son's wedding - and it's since become an obsession. I've always been creative and I'm usually the person to say " I think I can make that". What I like about cards is I can try alot of different techniques on a small scale.

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Living in Elyria, Ohio with my husband, Michael, who is a freelance illustrator. We are a very creative couple! I have always loved paper-- blank notebooks, tablets, etc -- so much potential there. I haven't always made cards, but have dabbled in a lot of creative endeavors. But I always come back to paper. When I am not in my studio (a spare bedroom in our home) I am working in our flower garden. Thanks for having me!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hi! Firstly, I apologize for my poor English. I live in St. Petersburg, Russia. As long as I can remember I was always drawing. I started making greeting cards in my childhood, when I was about five years. In high school I was interested in arts and crafts, and after studying textile design, weaving and batik painting.
So happened that I joined my passion for creating greeting cards and painting on fabric in my mixed media art cards.
I'm very pleased to join this team, and I want to thank you for the invitation!
I'm really happy to meet so many creative people who also creating greeting cards ^_^

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hi ladies,

First let me say what an honor it is to be included on a team with so many talented card makers!

I live in Texas on 13 acres complete with three horses, a beautiful red barn, an assortment of barn cats, four dogs and a few chickens. I am married to the most wonderful guy who has always supported my creative efforts. We have a 27 year old son who means the world to us.

I started scrapbooking about 12 years ago and eventually evolved into card making. I absolutely love making cards, although I must admit, I can sometimes spend too much time organizing and reorganizing my scrap room in hopes of working more quickly and creatively.

Thank you Lana, and it's lovely to meet you all.

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hi everyone. I've been making cards for about 11 years. I mostly use rubber stamps because I can't even draw a decent stick man. I find that crafting of any sort with me is like therapy. I currently work full time as an office admin/bookkeeper for a law firm but on July 31 of this month I will be quitting my job after 31 years. I can't wait to start doing more on Etsy and local sales. Thank you Lana for inviting me on this team and in a few weeks I will be participating like crazy.

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hey everyone,

I've been making cards since 1997 and I've been a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! since 2003. I've got a very large stash of cards that I have made over the past few years (got rid of all the older ones because they just aren't "me" anymore!), and I had started this shop in 2008 to start selling them, but didn't actually do much with it until starting this past year when I made it a project for my college-age daughter to help her get money for college. She didn't do very well with it, but got it up and running. All the listings expired, though, and I didn't actually start it back up until February of this year (2014). I've been doing pretty well, and while I stocked it with older cards, I now put cards in after I make them to ensure I don't end up with a backlog again! I still have a ton of cards that have not made it into the shop yet, though! I'm going to have to have some serious card-prepping sessions to get my Christmas cards in the shop next month!

Other than that, my day job is being a medical transcriptionist, so I work from home. I've been married to the same guy for 31 years this month, and we have 3 children, one daughter in college and a daughter and a son in high school.

Thanks for inviting me!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Melanie, I use to tell everyone I stamp because I can't draw. I have gotten a little bit better. But not much. It is so much easier to stamp.

I was a nurse in Geriatrics until I got married. I never went back to nursing. When I sold my stamping shop I worked there for a few years. Then I got diagnosed with MS. I miss the interaction of having a store front. But don't miss getting up everyday and driving to work. I started on Etsy cause I don't ever have to leave the house and I can do exactly what I want. I can work around my up for 4 hours time for a nap schedule!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

About
Have always loved making cards and it has been as source of serenity within the process of creating them. Friends have happily been giving me all their old cards for years, knowing they were going on to a new life in new cards via punches and backgrounds. They are color coded in tons of boxes in my "craft closet". Recycle any time or thing, I can. Like all crafty souls finding a use surprisingly, somewhere down the line. Until recently, have created and donated cards to the cancer center. This helped to educate my direction on what sold and who liked the greeting cards, occasionally doing requests for special orders. The Associates Degree in Commercial Art from years ago, was never used and I only came back to the artsy-craft world in the last 7 years.

Hi. I live in Beaverton, OR, and work at the Oregon Zoo. I love making handmade greeting cards. I've been interested in handmade crafting for years. I began giving handmade cards to friends, then after much urging, I opened a shop here on Etsy. Thank you for allowing me to be part of Handcrafted Cards. Here is one of my favorites.

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Belated Greetings to all from Dia, in Denver of the East (NC)! I opened my shop a few months ago after obtaining an addiction for making note cards while spending a day with some friends who have a passion for the same. I am currently working full time as many of you, so I don't get to spend a lot of time with my creative side, yet, but have made a sanctuary/studio for myself in my home (after both of my kids moved out), in preparation of good things to come!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hello Everyone! I stumbled onto this by accident and what an awesome idea this is! I am a bonafide card maker...it is my passion. I've been doing it for almost 3 years now after giving up my graphic design business. I've always seen myself doing this so now that the children are all grown up and GONE (gone bring the operative word hehe) I decided to do this full time. My goal is to turn this into a "real" business. It's nice to have an arena of like-minded individuals!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

I was raised in beautiful Minnesota until I turned 21 years, then I joined the US Marine Corps. I was stationed all over the United States to include two deployments to Iraq. I finally landed myself in Wilmington, NC years later and fell in love!! My shop was designed for me to keep a piece of home still in hands reach and also to share my fun stuff with anyone who's interested. I've been making things since I was a little girl, so I can't just focus on one thing to make. I enjoy making anything and everything. All items are hand made and custom to order.
I believe my vision and goals are like most women on Etsy.... to turn my passion/enjoyment into a full-time "real" business. Obviously I'm, super rookie.... so I appreciate all constructive advice. Thank you and I'm excited to share my stuff with everyone, including yours!!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

Hi!
I have just joined this team so bear with me until I learn the ropes. I am a great-grandmother who started making cards because I couldn't find what I was looking for many years ago. I have been selling on Etsy for 4 years now and doing fair. We would all like to do better.
I make one of a kind dimensional cards, notebooks, etc. My goal is to stay young in body and mind.
Good Luck to each and every one of us!

Re: Introduce yourself to the team.

HI- Just wanted to introduce myself to the team. I am a paper crafter and have been selling with Etsy on and off since 2008. I am a mom who has been working at home and this is my first year where all my kids are in full day school and I might actually have that extra time to commit to my little shop! I love to make cards and am inspired by all of those special occasions in our lives, especially the holidays. I love using layers and layers of patterned paper and most of my creations feature a beautiful vintage image. Looking forward to sharing with the team, participating and getting to see everyone else's creations!
