I have been making cards throughout my adult life; mostly from construction paper; and colored pencils. I also painted some with oil and acrylics, and enjoyed doing that. I never felt like my Art was good enough, so I never displayed my Art; and never attempted to sell it.
A couple of years ago, when my youngest son was in grade school; he and I attended a summer art camp. It was at the camp, that my love for watercolors began. I bought 'how-to' watercolor books, and started to experiment with watercolors; and taught myself how to paint. I also learned that everyone has their own 'gift' and we all create differently. I finally learned to like my Art, and decided in 2011 that I was ready to 'share' my gift with the public, and opened my shop.
At first, I only had watercolor paintings listed. The following year, I listed watercolor cards. Since a card is smaller than a painting, I find that I enjoy painting cards more than larger pieces of art. I also have gift tags and bags.
Inspiration for my Art begins as soon as I step out my door. I am blessed to live in a log home, surrounded by trees, and mountains. I share my home with my husband of 30 years, and we have two boys, 15 and 20 years old.
