Printful On Etsy - Advantages and Disadvantages

Would be intersting to hear your opnion, experience, advantages and disadvantages about working with Printful on Etsy as your drop shipping providers.

Technically, I find the integration between Printful and Etsy to be working like a charm. Uploading new items is very straightforward, almost completely automatic. My only concern is the rather elevated selling prices for Printful products, which in turn leaves little room for profit margins.

Is it only me, but it seems like DHL is faster than USPS. Anytime I've chosen USPS, the order sits in fulfillment for an extra day or two.

I'm just getting started, but I like my samples from Printful. Their website was really easy to use and upload my designs. The prints look great on my shirts. I agree that they seem more expensive then some of the other sites I'm looking into, and for that reason I am probably going to start with a different one.

@Colleen, which other providers (print + dropshipping) you have in mind? I may also look at other cheaper alternatives.

I also tried PrintAura. However, I really was unhappy with the samples I got. The printing was blotchy with some parts of the design darker and some parts lighter. One of my designs was very crooked on the shirt too. Also, the packaging was not as professional as Printful- the shirts were all stuck together in a mailer. And they had a strong chemical smell when you opened the package. The PrintAura website was very clunky and tedious to use as well.

I'm selling baby onesies, fyi.

So, I think I am going to go with Printful after all. :) I think you get what you pay for in this instance.

I have been selling with Printful/Shopify for not very long> I think they shine with production quality and customer service. They respond quickly to questions. I KNOW Printful is more expensive but Etsy customer expects a quality product.
I am going to create my store this week. Printful is printing and droppshipping for me. WHAT category do I set up my store in? Is this considered 'handmade'?

I just opened my Etsy shop about a month ago using the Printful integration. It was very easy to set up and I think Printful does a great job making it simple to see how designs will overlay onto products. I have many views and visits with some favorites, but have yet to get a sale. I’m concerned the price points are too high. It seems that others think the price is worth the quality, so I hope this is just a slow start that will pick up.

I am, so far, very happy with everything that I have ordered as samples from Printful. I especially love my newest sample of the embroidered pom beanie! It would be so awesome if they lowered prices (even if just a few bucks) as I can only upcharge about $10 per item to stay competitive, so I don't make much.

The chat at Printful is always so helpful. I just created my first all over shirt and am thrilled. I will order a sample soon and report back.

I have used a different vendor for my US t-shirt orders through my Shopify store purely based on price, but they don't integrate with Etsy and I am about to cut loose the higher expense of shopify and move all my operations to Etsy. From my perspective, I am still going to save money with the higher printful pricing and lower cost of using Etsy. I haven't crunched the numbers yet against my other vendor, but it will be overall savings.

The next advantage of using printful is the European local shipping and I can run both US and international orders out of Latvia to my UK and global customers. With the Etsy integration product management is all in one place at my printful dashboard.

In summary... after trying just about everything else, their investments in the framework like integrating with Etsy, European expansion, the quality of the products and fast shipping, great customer service is worth paying a little more for in the end.

I have an update to my previous post. I am now making sales and I have also ordered some sample t-shirts and leggings. I love the quality of the leggings. The material is so soft, it is worth the price. The quality of the prints is very good too. I’m very pleased with printful overall. However, I do wish there was an easy way to update products once you have already integrated them with Etsy. Altered mock up images do not auto update.

I am based in England but I would also like to sell in the US and have it come from the US shipping centre. Is anyone else doing this? I would like to list one product but come from the different fulfilment centres and keep the shipping price down. Can anyone shed light on this?
