Pricing critique?

I'm new on esty, and i have added a few items. I would like to hear your opinion on my pricing. I've priced things based on what else is on etsy, how much it costs to make, and how long it takes. The most time consuming and most expensive to make are the items that I priced highest. i haven't had any sales yet and I am wondering if my pricing is off.
the wreaths cost was about $22 dollars between the 2, and takes 2 or 3 days to make each. (i have to collect the shells, paint/clean the shells, buy supplies, and then i arrange them on the frame.)
The shadow boxes took probably double as long, and supplies was about the same.
those are my most expensive items, to give you an idea.
thanks for your help.

Re: Pricing critique?

I'm not familiar with your items but I think prices are fine.

I hope you get more responses from more knowledgeable Etsy sellers. Wish I could help out more.

Good luck with your store

Re: Pricing critique?

I'm brand new to this team and I can greatly use advice on pricing. When I price items it seems that no matter how I price them.... no one buys them.

If I charge the exact cost of materials & shipping ...
If I charge a little under cost just to try to make back some of the money I spent...
If I charge the cost of the materials, shipping & a bit for time & effort....
If I charge the price that I think the item would cost in a retail store...

I've tried all of these and the results are all the same - the pricing so far has made no different and I don't understand why.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Jules

Re: Pricing critique?

Hi Julia, I think you need to just continue to stock up the shop and include some wreaths with more variety in the kind of shells/starfish you put on them.

I think with the three framed pictures you have taking photos of them inside on the wall would make a more interesting composition. If you had shell wreaths/frames with more varied shells you could charge much more for them.

More items usually equals more sales, so get stocking! :)
