WHOIS Data Confirmation and ICANN registration

I recently migrated my dot com from ipage to Pattern and I have not been able to find answers to a few questions so I'm coming to the team. My registration is up for renewal in June and I would like to find out if Etsy will now become the registration provider. If yes, then great! If no, then I have a lot more work to do... Thank you in advance to anyone who might be able to help out.

Hi, Beachartz - setting up your new shop at Pattern doesn't automatically bring your domain registration along. I believe Etsy uses Hover for domain transfers and registrations.

You would likely have some action required at your current domain provider/registrar account in order to transfer it. The transfer process typically takes a few extra steps (such as unlocking your domain at your current registrar) so if you didn't do anything like that, or anything with Hover, it sounds as if your registration is probably with your original registrar. For example, I use Namecheap as my registrar - completely separate from Etsy.

Let me add - all this domain stuff makes my head swim, so if anything I've said is confusing I apologize and do please let me know so I can try to be more clear LOL

I have unlocked the domain and redirected the site to Etsy's servers. The directions they provide sort of stop there, so I guess I have more work to do. Thanks so much for the input! They really don't make this too easy.

@vfplannerpages is correct.  If you are just pointing your domain at Pattern, then your domain is still registered with the original registrar.  And if you don't have a problem with them, you can just keep it there.

Looks like I'm just pointing, although it appears to be functional and messages sent come through on my convos. I'll have to talk to ipage and look at hover or other services to decide on how to continue. Thank you for the response!
