Site Not secure but domain has an ssl

Jump to solution

Hello.

I just managed to get my domain to work however now my site says "not secured" and my domain has an SSL. Does anyone know what is going on? My domain provider is Porkbun.

Thank you,

Brianna

It takes several days for Etsy and your domain to obtain the security certificate, for whatever reason, it isn't instant. It should appear once everything has passed inspection on either Etsy's or your providers end.

So if my domain isn't secure in 3 or 4 days then it is an issue?

I just opened up my website as well with a 3rd party domain and I got the same error saying my site is not secure, should I just wait a few days?

Yes, it takes several days for it to become a secured site.

Hello, Ive come across this problem a few times.  It happened again today.  I think I finally figured out why and if I'm correct I hope it helps sellers seeing the " this website isn't secure ssl certificate ....yada yada yada".   I have a google domain I purchased and it points straight to my Etsy shop wwww.paisleyprintsgallery.etsy.com.  I was logged in under my google account instead of the main Etsy shop log in.  That's where Etsy allows you to log in with other accounts they allow.  I logged out of my google account, cleared the history on the web browser I was using (in this case Safari) then logged into my Etsy shop with my email and Etsy password.  Then I googled my website www.paisleyprintsgallery.com which shows on google by showing my google sites map business listing (free by the way).   Then I clicked on "website" on the business profile.  And the security SSL certificate warning did not appear.  :).
