Shipping guidelines on Pattern

Jump to solution

I have a Pattern website on which I sell the same items that I sell in my Etsy store.  I have set up Free Shipping over $35.00 in my Etsy store.  However, it doesn't appear that the Free Shipping offer carries over into my Pattern store.  For sales under $35.00 in my Etsy store, I charge a flat rate fee of $3.50 via USPS first class package service regardless of the number of pieces involved in the order.  That information does not show up in my Pattern store either.

I can't seem to find any way to edit shipping information in my Pattern store or to actually see shipping information that appears to customers.

I sent an email request via Help in my Pattern store.  I did receive a reply (from Etsy support) but the reply does not answer my question; in fact it is just additionally confusing.

I'd really appreciate any help regarding Pattern shipping guidelines that other Pattern users can provide.

I'm feeling very uncertain at this time about the future of Pattern as well as its reliability.

Many thanks!

I went to your website, and if I put more than $35 worth of items in my cart, shipping becomes free.  So it's working, even if it doesn't say it.

My suggestion would be to put an Announcement at the top of the page that says free shipping over $35.  You can do that when you are editing Pattern by clicking on Marketing.  The Announcement section is at the top.

I have an Announcement on mine about signing up for email, if you want to see what I mean:

funkydreams.com

Unfortunately, Support doesn't seem to have much knowledge about Pattern.  And Etsy is too busy pushing Free Shipping everywhere to even give Pattern a second thought.

Thanks very, very much for your response!

I'll follow your advice and put up an announcement that briefly outlines my shipping charges.

Etsy's Free Shipping vigorous push has created a difficult situation for many stores.  Because my items are small and can ship via USPS package rates, I can work with Free Shipping over $35.  I was already offering free shipping over $40 - only a very small number of customers used the promotion.  But I wanted to be sure that the same shipping offer was available in my Pattern store for continuity sake.

I realize however that Free Shipping of any kind doesn't work for many, many stores.  I understand and appreciate the seriousness of the dilemma that's been created for those stores.

Thanks again for your thoughtful, helpful reply - I genuinely appreciate your help!!
