OMG I did not realize how long it has been since I have been here!
I have been trying not to be on my laptop because I spend too long on it. However, when I am not on it things lapse - like my Etsy listings, finances, etc. Sigh....

Jul - have you had any luck in the work area yet?

Kat - have not seen you on here either

I have been super busy and spending way too much money - I had to go into my saving account to pay my bills. Back to school (grandkids) birthdays (daughter and son in laws - grandson's coming up soon) dance classes (granddaughter) purchases (my favourite vendor had a big shipment come in and I have been buying stone beads and even leather from her while she has it) some new fall clothes for me ... all add up.

This morning, I spent some time in my shop copying and pasting some of my bracelet listings that are expiring this week into a Word doc so that I can transfer them into my new shop. Then I just need a banner and I can open it.

I renewed some listings but I don't have time to list them here today. Lots to do and I have a wire wrapping class tonight. Hope to catch you all later. Looks like many of us are busy this time of year.....

Helllllllloooooo!!! Sorry to be gone so long. I am somewhere between being in a funk still from losing my friend, my husband being gone out of state (we are halfway thru his training tho!) and being overwhelmed with work, orders, canning and trying to keep the house going on my own. My shoulder, neck & arm still is an issue, tho I've been going to a massage therapist and it is SLOWLY improving. Today it's bugging the crap outta me tho. Hate my job, hate working for the boss lady, MUST get my resume updated and start looking for something else.

And see, this is why I've not wanted to pop in here, I feel like I'm all complaints lately. I will try to be better about getting in here more often tho. Juls, sorry to have left everything to you. Have you found work for the next year? Hope so. ♥

Sharon, thanks for the convo, I'm SO glad that you made it thru the hurricane okay. My sister, down in Houston made it thru Harvey too and without any flooding. I have heard from various old members on Facebook. Just heard this morning from Roxanne (watercolorsnmore) and she made it thru and is doing well.

Oh, hey...QUESTION:

Can we bulk change the prices of something even if there are variations on the pricing. I need to raise the price of my slippers, the cost of the yarn has gone up. Currently, I have the variations set for normal sizes a certain price and extended sizes a couple bucks more. But I can't find where to do it all at once. It's gonna stink if I have to go in and do them individually...

Welcome back, everyone!

Just an update.
No luck on work. No job. Received only one interview all Summer. I applied for teacher pools (any job that comes up, I am eligible) and individual jobs and sub jobs).
(I have 19 years experience and 99.2 units beyond a B.A.)
No one is posting for a full-time teacher now, so I am S.O.L. with an elementary teaching job. I might be looking into a new career - maybe contact a recruiter. I don't know. Doesn't seem to be a teacher shortage in my area.

I took CLAD courses at UC Berkeley this summer to be allowed to teach in California ($2800 + $102.50 for the CTC to give me the credential). And now, I am jobless and working on my Etsy shops. So, remember :

Kat, I know it is hard, believe me. But, hubby will be home soon. And do it! Get those applications out there. There has to be graphic design jobs out there somewhere. Good luck!

The CLAD is a set of courses that teach you how to work with English as a Second Language children. It was a lot of review, but the "certificate" is required in the general education circuit in California. If you have a credential from another state and move to California, you have to take these courses. If you graduated before 1990 and have a CA credential (that's me), you have to take this coursework. And that is close to the cheapest around... online is about $100 cheaper, but you have to do all the work on your own. This was worth it to me... to be in the classroom, being taught by a professional. It did the job. (But, it didn't help me get a job, unfortunately.)

Oh, I saw a basic silk screened sweatshirt at the mall for $65.
I now feel that I am WAY fine (if not too low) on my pricing.
You know THEY are mass produced, and mine are individually crafted by me. I don't feel that I am charging enough for my work, but I am feeling better about my prices. I will not be going lower (and I will finally make a small profit.)
