PDF pattern delivery

I'm considering a shop and would like to know does anyone use "payloadz" to deliver their digital patterns to customers? Payloads is a digital delivery service I found on the net.

Re: PDF pattern delivery

I just attach the file to an email. I use openoffice to make the pdfs.

I send a thank you email to all my customers and attach the pdf.

I am not great with computers and I found openoffice very easy to use and it is free.

I use e-junkie! Cheap and digitally stamps your files to help prevent file sharing!

Re: PDF pattern delivery

I realize this is an old thread but it's new to me!
For anyone using e-junkie, do your pdf patterns automatically download once the customer pays through paypal?
If not, is there any service out there that can automate this? I don't think Etsy will have this service anytime soon so I'm looking into other options that could possibly work through Paypal, where a download button could magically appear after payment. :)
Thanks,
Alison

Re: PDF pattern delivery

Hi Alison,

I'm new to the team and just researching these things myself. My understanding of e-junkie is that once successful payment has been processed, the customer is taken to a page where they can download the pdf...

Re: PDF pattern delivery

I emailed e-junkie and they said they don't work with Etsy. They would work if you had your own website and accepted Paypal. I really wish Etsy had something set up for downloadable products, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. But I will keep searching to see if something could be done through Paypal.

Re: PDF pattern delivery

hi just joined this team. I use open office too and it converts to pdf then just attach to email. Nice and easy. Would be great though if etsy added a download file option after checkout. Customers might prefer that.

Re: PDF pattern delivery

I just sent email with pdf file attached. I use "pdf Creator" to convert my Microsoft Publisher or Word pattern file to a pdf file to email. But, I'm going to look at e-junkie now! Thanks ChrisW for sharing.

Re: PDF pattern delivery

I know this is an old post but I just joined and read this discussion. Thanks so much for all the helpful tips. Barbara do you find the "pdf Creator" is just as good as Adobe professional 8 to convert your files? I like that pdf Creator is free. My concern is can everyone you send it to open the file?

Re: PDF pattern delivery

Jennifer, I have no problems at all with pdf creator. They open just fine in Adobe Acrobat. I've never had anyone complain either. Give it a try.
I've never used Adobe prof.8.

Re: PDF pattern delivery

just thought i'd chime in about freeware that I love. I use inkscape to draft my pattern pieces, tile them into printable sheets, and save them as pdf's. Since I only have crappy MS Works on my home computer (which won't save files as a pdf) I use foxtab converter to convert those- its actually a printer driver, so its a little weird how it works, but it gets the job done and its a very small program. Then, I use "pdf merge" to combine the individual pattern page files and the photo-tutorial works documents. Also a tiny program that works extremely well and is really truly free, not just a trial version.
