Twitter 101

We have all seen how Twitter has moved up on the Social media food chain over the years.. whats the deal with that?

I am going to tell you !

Twitter is a great way to connect with people that might be interested in what you have to offer, it is free to use and you can find hundreds of people interested in exactly what you offer.

To Explain how to use twitter I have to use a fictitious business as a example, so Lets pretend I own a small Movie theater and I want to use Twitter to generate business.

All I have to do is prepare a coupon as an image offering some discount or free popcorn or? and go to twitter.

ON the top of the page you can see the search bar. As I am the proud new owner of an amazing fictitious movie theater, I can perform a search that will bring me back customers.

lets say I did a search for any of the Movie titles I was currently playing in my theater

I could find people that were interested in that movie, and I could see what they said about it. then I could simply reply to the person that tweeted about that movie with the coupon I made earlier as a Jpeg.

That's pretty much how it works. you see you can find any tweet that includes keywords that would indicate that a person was interested on your products.

For Example One of The Students on this team sells handmade soaps. So if she wanted to sell her soaps, all she has to do is go to twitter and perform a search for the exact phrase " Handmade Soap"

She will get a lust of hundreds of people who have mentioned handmade soap in a tweet, all she has to do is reply with a coupon code and if she really wants a good return, Take the time to make an image that was taught in the Facebook class to establish a customer bond.

I have sold Thousands of products using this technique. and Now I have automated the process so I do not even have to do it anymore.

You can automate your twitter too by using free easy macro Software that will run 24 hours a day & 7 days a week for free. every 15 minutes my automation program performs a search for my keywords and replays to them all with a coupon code.

This technique paid my house off !!

~ Note: I will add the automation class later this week.

If you enjoy these classes. there are many more to come, I have made a living online for many years. As an X Google employee of 7 years I have been around the block a few times.I know all the tricks of the trade and then some. I plan to give the very best classes for online marketing but please, tell your friends and lets make a bigger team together. We can all help each other to make more money.

I will do my part, yours is to get more team members !

Re: Twitter 101

This is interesting, i used twitter in a very modest "boring" way, don't twit too much, and i don't reply or make a direct contact to people...
I tried searching for "vintage home decor"...most of all i see is other vintage sellers is offering things...maybe i don't get it...or how to use it for my items...mmm...

Re: Twitter 101

Do you have an idea how to promote this item in twitter?

Maybe look for people who are looking for bridal jewelry?
Most of my items are one of a kind, does it mean i need to promote each one separately?

Re: Twitter 101

Lets take the picture above as an example. This is one of the items you have in your store ~

To find people that would be interested in buying these, You could try the following:

"Retro pearls"
"Pearl Brooch"
"I love brooches"
"I love pearls"
"I want a Brooch"
"I Love Vintage pearls"
"Vintage pearls"

For each of your products, think to your self, ~what could a person say that would be interested in the item~If it is vase, people who are talking about vases will at least look at your tweet and some might buy your product. It's a numbers game, some of your items will be easy to find target audiences for, while others may be more difficult ( Like a brooch... haha)

You have to market each product separately to find more people. But when your looking at those tweets, Keep following anyone who mentions any of your keywords , You can follow 999 people a day on twitter, DON'T Follow 1000 or you get flagged. ( Been there, done that, many times over)

No one said it was going to be easy. It does take some effort on your part, but the pay off is huge. Even if you do not make even one sale from twitter, The SEO benefits to your shop and listing will be higher then your competition and you will make sales from Etsy. and people finding you at the top of the search engines.

Be sure to follow as many people as you can. once you do this for awhile you get really good at it. The longer you do it the easier it gets. as your social presence sores, The amount of effort needed to maintain it drops.

Re: Twitter 101

That was exactly how to do it ~ Perfect

this person will not be offended, keep in mind it non invasive, your not expecting anything from them, they will look at your product and smile.

Did you see how twitter displayed your product in the tweet?

This is activity for your store !

This is the goal. don't worry about if the person on twitter buys anything, we want the SEO credit and activity so we show up high on the search engines across the board

Re: Twitter 101

Supply and Demand~

Some of your products may be difficult to find people talking about them. It is just like the search engines, marketing something that has no demand is very difficult to do.

You have to find a demand for all your products, or at least create a few products with high demand to drive traffic to your store, these visitor will do some shopping and you will sell other items too.

Use the Google keyword tool to look how many times people type your keyword into a search engine

This way you can see the demand of an item before you even make it.

You have many items in your store and many, many things to search for on twitter to find leads.... I find by going at it, you will eventually hit pay dirt on an item and it takes off

Re: Twitter 101

Key word tool questions:
-Should we follow the same order of keywords that is reflected in the "key word ideas"? If we change the order of key words, does it make any difference in the results?
-Does "Local" mean US? (key word tool)

Re: Twitter 101

If the "key word tool" ideas shows that "headbands wide" has a lot of views, and I have in my titles "wide headband", does it make my shop invisible?

Re: Twitter 101

Hello Maria,

Local means the country you are in, and Global means the world.

For your headband wide, always check it exactly as you want to place it.

Chances are if you have both the words even if not in the same order, you will be fine, the best way to know for sure is to run them in the keyword tool to get an exact number.

Re: Twitter 101

Eva Marie - I would like to try this - but when I search on Twitter all I find is other people selling a similar product - any suggestions to finding actual buyers - not competitors?

Re: Twitter 101

Hi,

Twitter is a really good place to find people interested in your bracelets and items, The images of your buttons need to be set to white backgrounds to enhance the product, by placing the items in matching backgrounds, the items do not stand out, they look bland.

Try putting one of the bracelets on and then taking a picture or simply use a white or plain background without any personal tastes distracting from the item you are selling, myself I love the wood backgrounds, but your not selling wood backgrounds.

ON Twitter, I would go after antique dealers and second hand shops or high end thrift stores. Vintage clothing stores, vintage furniture etc..
Log into twitter and go to the search bar and look for "antique dealer" when you see the results by default it will be Tweets, look to your upper left and click on " People" this way you can see antique businesses.

I know what you're thinking why would a antique store want to buy my items? They most likely won't ever buy anything from you ~ That's not the point, you see the antique dealer on twitter has a list of followers who are patrons of that business. Follow those people ! they are your buyers !

Look for businesses that sell similar or vintage related items, and then swipe their customers!

But remember you can only follow a maximum of 999 people in a 24 hour period, that breaks down to under 40 an hour.

tweet tweet tweet!

I tried this last week and it worked for me. I'm slowly getting more followers each day. I found that I had to try a few diffierent keywords and searches to get what I was looking for.

Re: Twitter 101

This is awesome! I am so glad I found this team. I was wondering though, would this be considered spamming people? I have never used Twitter before so I don't have a clue how it works beyond this, but I think I would be afraid of being perceived as rude. Please explain if you can. Thanks so much for this awesome post!
