HOW TO CURATE A TREASURY:

At the top of your screen you'll see a line of blue words, click on "Buy" & it will take you to another page. On the lower right hand section of that page you'll see a section that reads "Ways to shop"-under that heading you will see "Treasury" as an option, click on that. Up in the right hand corner, you will see a section that reads "Curator Tools" with "Create a List" and "Your treasury lists". To create a new treasury, click on "create a list". To find a treasury you've made, click on "your treasury lists". Once you click on create a list, a template will pop up. Make a new tab (in your web browser), go to etsy, and find the items you would like to feature. Either write the number (in the URL) for the listing down & enter it in the field for each item, or copy & paste the link for the item. Tag the treasury as you see fit, include what types of items are there, what sort of collection it is, or who might like it. And add a description, what ties these items together? What kind of statement are you trying to make, etc...

HOW TO CREATE A COUPON CODE FOR YOUR SHOP:

In the upper right hand corner of your screen you will see Your Shop:yourshopname - when you hover over that (do not click on it) a drop down menu appears. The last option on the list is "coupon codes" click on this. In the upper right hand corner you will see a blue button that reads "create new coupon". Click on it. A box will pop up with a field for you to enter whatever code you want to use for your shop or promotion. The next field reads "Discount type"-where you select from the drop down list either a percent off (you chose what percent) or free shipping. Then click the button that reads "Add coupon" and you're ready to go!

Suggestions on how to use the coupon code function: include it with thank you notes to customers to encourage them to check out your shop again, as a holiday promotion, to spread to your family & friends so they can support you & get your shop up & going, etc....

Ok, first response for BNR/BNS: they are special treasuries where IF you purchase from a shop "on the board" (in the treasury) you will be featured in that shop's spot. BNR is Buy-N-Replace-they move VERY quickly (the discussion is all in the treasury's comments) so as soon as you buy from someone you get their spot on the board (in the treasury). BNR's usually last only a couple of hours. BNS is Buy-N-Stay where IF you buy from a shop you will be featured in the next round in their place. The usually last days, weeks, even months sometimes. You will also find the discussion in the comments section of he treasury but it moves much slower. No matter what, if you purchase from a BNR or BNS & expect to be featured, you MUST post a copy of your transaction in the comments section of the treasury (I will post the instructions for this here soon as well). The main idea behind BNS/BNR is that you buy from someone & hopefully someone buys from you. Please note it does not always work out this way, but I have gotten sales from being in BNS/BNR's so it can be a way to get sales & build up your feedback. You also build friendships & your fellow etsians are more likely to purchase something from someone they know rather than someone I don't. (Like, if I'm going to buy wood toys for my kids, I will buy them from my etsy friend who does woodcrafting of toys).... am I making sense here? I hope so.... more to come.

Ok, now Marissa: etsy does not alert people when you put them in a treasury. You must do that yourself (if you choose to). The easiest way to do this is from your treasury, click on the first item, click on the blue "contact" button on the page that displays the item & write a generic email.... I usually say something like "Your lovely item has been featured in my treasury, you can find it here: and paste the link for your treasury. Sign your name" then I copy it all so I can use it on the next one. Send it. Click the "back" button on your browser (so it takes you back to the treasury) & repeat (by pasting the email each time you "contact" someone from the treasury) so they know where to find your lovely work & so they can promote it for themselves.

And last but not least tonight, Adriane, I do not know of any way to offer special pricing aside from either 1. creating a coupon & trust people use it only on the honor system or 2. change listings (this is where the reserved listing comes from) so you offer a discount for someone you know is going to buy multiples.... does that make sense? I hope so. Let me know if I can be of any further help or if you have any more questions. I'm always happy to help if I can ;0)

I don't see any options to add to circle anymore. It has an option to follow though. Is that supposed to be the same thing?

Hmmm - do you see something different than I do since you are a leader on the team, Betty?

Maybe try to go into a different team, where you are not a leader, and just pick a person, and go through the steps to see what happens?

Just checked - mine still says 'circle' - I think it might be because you are leaders? not sure. In any event - whoever has the ability maybe can delete this conversation taking place so it doesn't clutter the thread up. ;)

Awesome - THANK YOU MUCHLY!!!

Oh - and I was thinking - I think we can 'follow' a shop, but 'add to circle' a person. Does anyone know?

You can favorite a shop and circle a person. "Following" is for those who Etsy randomly selected to beta test the new activity feed (which I heard is like Pinterest or something).

For now Circle=Follow. (on Etsy.)

Don't worry about it too much until Etsy decides what system they're going to make sitewide.

Cindy, you go to the item in your shop & select the URL, then copy & paste it in the thread. It does not include any information for the item, just the name & price. If you want to add the details you'd have to do that on your own, either before or after the link with the item. Hope this helps!

I was wondering how to offer a discount if I bulk items. For example: buy 2 items and gets x off. I created a coupon but I wonder if there is another way to offer this. Any ideas?
