Hello everyone!

I apologize for not jumping in here sooner. I'm trying very hard to get more inventory created for my shop, while working full time and other assorted time-sucking duties.

I just wanted to stop by and say hello and introduce myself and my assistants...um, employers. LOL

I'm Monica and my girls are Lena, Lucy, and Lilya. Lena is a ginger tabby, Lucy is a mix of just about every cat out there, and Lilya is part Maine Coon, I believe. They all came to us at different times from different places, Lena and Lucy were craigslist kitties, and Lilya walked through the automatic doors at work one day last fall. I love them all so dearly, even when they are being demanding. :0)

Lena is my quality control supervisor and design consultant. She will be three this summer and is quite the mature and mellow matron most of the time. She has barely left my side since I was gone for a week last fall when my mother fell ill and passed away. Not sure if it's empathy or if she fears I will leave again as that was the first time I had been away from her except for going to work. She sits with me while I create but never messes with anything, just watches, wanting to be wherever I am.

This is her investigating the bundle containing a new puppy we brought home last spring from a co-worker's accidental litter:

Lucy is an angel. She is Lena's kitty because our now dearly departed older kitty, Snotty, wanted nothing to do with Lena when we brought her home so we got her a kitty of her own. Lucy is only about a month younger than Lena. She likes to kiss me on the lips, all I have to do is purse and making kissing noises and she puts her muzzle against my lips. She also likes to check out what's going on inside, so she regularly insists that I open my mouth so she can insert her entire muzzle and investigate. I think she wants to be a dentist when she grows up.

And finally, there is Lilya. This is a kitty that knows no fear or boundaries at all. Typical third child, and baby of the family. She is a little instigator and is the one either leading the chase or taking up the rear, either way she's usually the cause of the commotion. We didn't want another cat but I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her. Not sure how long she was on her own before she walked into work, but she was very young and tiny when I brought her home. The house hasn't been the same since. LOL She will also eat anything that doesn't eat her first, and is a very vociferous and insistent little beggar. Here she is in a very rare moment of peace:

Thank you for being so patient in allowing me to be so long winded in introducing my fur babies, my children. :0)

Re: Hello everyone!

Okay, who knows if this will work...! If it does, here are my co-workers, the brother and sister duo. Bob (orange guy) and Abby (tuxedo with a feminine touch) are brother and sister from a litter that included about every color combination you can think of. They're GREAT buddies!

Re: Hello everyone!

Your kitties are gorgeous, too, BHB! Bob looks a lot like Lena. She was supposed to be a boy when I went to pick her up since most orange tabbies are.

I think any group of kitty lovers has to be a really great group of folks. They make us better people, I believe.

Thanx for the warm welcome and for sharing your kids. And congrats on getting that pic posted. :0)

I can't promise I will be around here alot, as I am totally scattered to the winds at the moment with everything going on, but I will try. :0)

Re: Hello everyone!

Thanks! This was a rare photo. Every time I get the camera out, they get that "Don't take my picture!" look on their faces. Ears get flat, they look away, etc. I need a hidden camera so they don't know what I'm up to!

Re: Hello everyone!

Mine always seem to stop doing whatever cute thing made me want to take the pic in the first place, even if it's just sleeping in a funny position. They seem to sense the camera is out. LOL

Well, I need to get busy around here! Have a great day, BHB. :0)

Re: Hello everyone!

Hey Hippiwife!

Welcome to the Cat House..lol Loved your long windedness and intro.
Your cat ..senses your loss in your life. They are very good at that and that is why she wants you to know you are not alone. She looks like a cat I had once...half Siamese and half orange tabby. He as orange and beige and his name was Stinky, My oldest was around 2 then and the cat got under the car and got oil on him and he stunk..lol Use to be odd to go out and call Here Stinky!! We lot him when we moved a couple years later... BUT there seems all of a sudden to be a lot of kitten in the neighborhood looked just like him. opps.

BigHairyBugs... that is just tooooooooooooooo cute!!

I watched a video today had 4 little kittens in it and Ohhh I wish I had my own place I would get me another one.

Re: Hello everyone!

When I lived in Georgia and had about 16 cats. They were wild and you couldn't catch them. BUT you take a pan of food out and they try and trip you up going in and out of your feet. I use to sit in a rocking chair and just watch them play.
A vet in the area help me try to trap them but they were too smart. They refused to even go near them. Not sure if they are still there the people got pitbulls after I left.
But one neat thing was there was a family of racoons that would come up and they all ate together..strangest thing I ever saw.
