what else is there for adhesives?

I am at my nerve's end!!!!!! Hot glue's cheap look is not worth half the effort that it takes to use (not thread)....and adhesive spray (no matter how I apply) attracts every undesirable stray feather and fuzz. I was wondering if y'all could lend a hand as to what your favorite adhesive is to use...I work predominantly with a non-porous mask surface, and the decoratives include: fabrics (satin, felt, lace, and ribbon).....as well as rhinestones, decorative edging, feathers, etc....
any guidance would be most appreciated!!!!!

We use hot glue for just about everything. It does look cheap, but only when seen, which is why we conceal and cover it as much as possible. And also using precise amounts of hot glue. I don't know what glue gun you use, but personally I find the ones that have a four finger trigger (compared to the cheap two finger triggers) give the best precision and control.

I agree with you on the spray adhesive. It works much with fabrics than hot glue, but can easily ruin a mask by attracting EVERYTHING afterwards. I would also like to know of a good adhesive for fabrics.

Fabric glue like Sobo and Elmers as often as I can to avoid all those glue gun spider webs and fumes, though ultimately I have to switch to the gun for final trim and feather work or touch ups. I'll also put in a few stitches to avoid the gun for as long as possible. You can try quick set jewelry adhesives if you want something quicker than fabric glue but neater than a glue gun. The only problem is the tips tend to clog after a day or two.

I'm like Matthew and Tracy--hot glue discreetly used for just about everything. I also use elmer's (especially for glitter application), as well as JewelIt when working with rhinestones. I know there are maybe better options out there, but most are not as quick-drying, and I'm impatient. ;)

goodness, thank y'all for those tips!!!,
last question: i'm about to embark on a quest to find a way to make (excuse the expression) top heavy masks (particularly the ones that don't have equal weight between sides) to stay on your melon without slipping off....while not ruining your fierce hair-do....i've tried using elastic rather than ribbon, and that ended in an adventure....do y'all have any tips regarding that before i start?....and even though i'm no where close as experienced/gifted as y'all...if i find a method that works for me, i will share the goods!!!!

FWIW, if you are using hot glue, I strongly encourage you to find an alternative. Not trying to put anyone down or hurt any feelers here, but hot glue simply isn't a pro grade material. I say that as someone who has made that mistake, AND the subsequent repairs! ;) Hot glue will not stand the test of time. The link above should have some better alternatives.
