Woop Woop New Week coming, how do we do it better?

Good evening all.
No sales the weekend....boooo, but new things learned and a good time had with the family. Loads of work to do to refine the shop. Google analytics signed up for, I think. The next 24 hours will tell if I got the right.
So how has everybody else been been doing....and how do we do it better?

A few things that being on Etsy as shown me...

1. Success is relative. It is important for some people to makes sales every day. But for me my initial modest aim was to make an average of one sale per month. So success for me has been averaging 1 & 1/2 sales per month last year.

2. Even without the sales, just being here and studying my viewing statistics has taught me a lot about what people like and how they find my work. I did study my Google analytics for a while, but then they changed the format and I can’t make head nor tail of it.

3. Sales are like busses. You see nothing for ages then a whole lot come along at once. At the start of this year my Etsy sales went mad. In fact by early March I only needed ONE MORE sale to equal the whole of last year put together! BUT I had to wait two more months until that one sale to come though. Then the next day I got a request to list an expensive item from my website in the Etsy shop so that it can be purchased more easily. Done that – now waiting to see if the sale really does come through, or they change their minds....

4. Just keep plugging away and make the most of every opportunity for people to find out what you do.

...Anyone got plans to try something new?

Lynn I see exactly where you are coming from. New this year is the intention to do a show somewhere. I here twitter is a good medium, and I have an account, but I don't really understand it.
I have found the stats quite interesting, I am gradually understanding them and acting on them, gradually being the word!

Good evening all! I have started my week with a big old trip to the post office! It's always very satisfying when you have a bunch of orders ready to post I think :) No orders for me yet this week, but I am taking the opportunity to play around with some new design ideas, and am finalising the design for a friends wedding invitations :) This week, my promise to myself is to be off the laptop and in bed by 10pm! x

With twitter, I think it helps to interact with people who are interested in similar things as yourself and might be interested in your product. Seeing as you are inviting people to get their own photographs printed on to mugs and things I would suggest following and interacting with more photographers. Perhaps connect with humorists and cartoonist as well?
Also look out for #DevonHour (Wed between 8-9pm), #SentfromDevon, and in your case #PlymouthHour (Tuesday between 8-9pm)

#ExeterHour is Thursdays from 8-9pm

Naturally I use twitter quite a bit to connect with environmentalists, people who are fans of hedgehogs, butterflies, hedgerows etc as well as printmakers and other creative people.

The hash tag #MadeinDevon already seems to be much used – so how about if this team gets into the habit of using #EtsyDevon when tweeting about our artwork/craft/shops etc so that we can find each other and retweet.

I do notice a spike in views when I tweet a new listing in my shop.

Thanks to Lynn's suggestion I tweeted with the tags #MadeinDevon and #EtsyDevon. I have also time tabled an hour tonight whilst my daughter is in the dojo to look into twitter.
