Re: Welcome

Thanks for this invitation. I use macrame knots to make jewelry out of hemp. I also have a purse project made macrame style out of hemp that I've been working on for the past decade, I hope to finish it someday soon.

Re: Welcome

macrame for me is a source of daily inspiration allows me to make my creative freedom to think I've reached a good level even though I know I should learn a lot every day ... I seek originality in my work that I hope will be appreciated!

Re: Welcome

I have been a Macrame artist I guess for the last 15 years, although intially I didn't even know they was a name for it, until about 6 years ago! haha I know:) but I have been studying old booklets from the 60's, 70's and beyond, learning techniques from there and just being inspired by other artists. I love to make jewelry mainly, but I also enjoy making suncatchers, dreamcatchers, wallhangings, purses and plant hangers. I enjoy doing custm stuff, as well, so hit me up if you have any requests! Thanks for the invite also!

Re: Welcome

Thanks for inviting me to the team! I found that I absolutely love creating with hemp. Although new to this I love trying to design new things and would love to learn how to create with different knots and actually learn to macrame ipod or cell phone holders. Right now, I'm creating hemp necklaces, bracelets and chokers. I've never been a 'crafter' and I'm luving the feeling when I create a piece.

Re: Welcome

Wow! Kudos for creating a group - finally somewhere we "knotters" fit in:)

I did macrame back in the 70's. Yep - plant hangers and hanging tables and owls and everything:) A few years ago I rediscovered macrame in a whole new way using smaller cords & beads and there's been no looking back.

Besides the macrame, I also dabble in other jewelry techniques like bead weaving & bead embroidery.

Thanks for the invitation to join your group!

Re: Welcome

I'm so happy that there is an actual Macrame team now! We can all share our thoughts, goals, and tricks we've learned along our knotty path!

I make knotted hemp necklaces, bracelets, wrapped gemstone pieces, and macrame owls. I have a passion for beautiful gemstone pendants and beads, as well as fine glass!

Re: Welcome

Hi! We're Heather and Deanna from Pocket Full of Knots. We've been making macrame jewelry together for about six years. After two years we started vending at one large local festival to sell all the excess pieces we'd made. But a couple of years ago we decided to try to make our hobby into a small business. It's a work in progress, but we both love macrame, and we love coming up with our own patterns for jewelry designs. We still have a lot to learn about macrame, but maybe this team can help us with that! :)

Re: Welcome

well hello there!!! my name is Gaby and i've been making macrame stuff for a long long time, i think over 10 years now. I love to make anything! i've made lots and lots of plant hangers, baby blankets, all type of jewelry, and more. But now since i have a 16 months old baby, i don't have much time do my passion so i've only been making bracelets and here and there plant hanger for requests only. I also enjoy doing other crafts but for the same reason i don't try anything new or i'll be hooked up, lol. I love the idea of having our team! thank yo so much for the invitation and hopefully we can do smething good.

Re: Welcome

Hola everyone, we just found this team. My husband has been making macrame for years now and he taught me. I love it, we use waxed threads and sell here on Etsy and at fairs in Ireland. We sold for a few years in South America and found that macrame is a lot more popular there than here in Ireland!

Re: Welcome

Hi everyone. I've been knitting and crocheting for many years and very recently fell in love with knotting and macrame. I like all things to do with fiber and beads, especially when I can create beautiful and unique items with them. I was born too late to appreciate macrame at it's peak, but I am glad to see that it is having a resurgence!

Re: Welcome

What a great group! I am so happy to see fellow knotters on Etsy. I have been creating hemp jewelry and accessories for about a year. I also started knitting, but have not mastered this art well enough to sell yet. I love adding beads and charms to my creations as well as using all sorts of colors. I just joined Etsy a few days ago and am excited to promote my items and to see the beautiful work of fellow crafters!

Re: Welcome

I thought I would introduce myself as I recently joined. I'm Acid and I've been into macrame since the age of 11. My main speciality at the moment is friendship bracelets in all shapes and sizes and designs but I also make other products using macrame which I should hopefully have in my shop after new year :)

Re: Welcome

Hello there,

Special hello to amorio, another half Colombian couple ;-)

I recently joined this group. I learned macrame knotting quite some time ago, when we used to make friendship bracelets for our friends as teenagers. Then I spent the last 2,5 years in Colombia, started knotting again, selling on the streets and now have some stuff on etsy as well :)

Re: Welcome

Hi everyone,

I've just joined this team today. I use a kind of micro-macrame to make my friendship bracelets in my shop. I think it is amazing how tiny little knots creat wonderful elaborate designs. I like doing macrame because it is so relaxing and you can escape for hours.

Re: Welcome

Hello!

Its so great to be here. My name is Lisa and I make organic hemp jewelry. I like to use bright colorful glass beads and recycled materials as much as possible. Charm necklaces are very addicting to make. I like macrame because it helps me focus and stay in the present moment. Mini meditations every time I create. I started because I wanted to use hemp as my main material of choice and it helps create a more sustainable world. There are so many reasons to love hemp!
