Dear Latino/a Creative Community Team:

I'm so glad you've joined! Foremost, I hope this team will be a go-to place for latino artists to connect with each other. When I joined Etsy in December, I was interested in connecting with other Mexican American/Latino sellers, and they were not easy to find.

I would love to hear any ideas you may have on how we can support each other. We can start by "favorite-ing" each others' shops/products and creating treasuries featuring team members' products. It could also be a good forum for sharing business tips, or a place where we can constructively critique each others' shops.

I'd love to hear your thoughts/suggestions!

Hola/Hi I'm a Cuban born Artist thanks for letting me join you. This is all new to me. I've been painting all my life. I love to use a lot of bright colors and I love your works. I just paint from my subconsciousness. I am love to paint abstract images and share then. I'm an Elementary Bilingual Teacher.

What a great team and thank you for inviting us. Analisa Rose boutique consist of my mom and I and we make handmade hair accessorys for all ages. My mom is charge of crocheting and I design. We joined Etsy in December and find it to be such an awesome place to find unique one of a kind pieces.

HOla como estas....garcias por to the inviation....i feel honored and excited to join. I join esty in October of 2010 making hair clips. I started making them after my 3rd child was born. I have to baby girls and wanted to make something unqiue and special for them so we i am!!!

It's so great to hear such enthusiasm & ideas!!:) But, I cannot take credit -- this idea came from Walls2Canvas/Manny, an activist/muralist in L.A. (his current avatar is the wonder woman graphic). We were brainstorming on how to network with other Etsy sellers of color (latino, black, asian, etc). As in the "real world," I tend to think that we are also minorities in the "Etsy world." For instance, I have not noticed many of photos featuring people of color on Esty's front page, nor items clearly inspired by a certain ethnic/cultural heritage. So, Manny suggested the creation of an Etsy team to promote each other! Since I'm new-ish to Etsy (I started listing items last month), I'm still learning about teams and circles, so please feel free to keep posting your suggestions!!

This was such a great idea! I didn't realize how few ethnic items were on Etsy until I joined. It feels like we're part of a community, and I look forward to hearing critiques and suggestions from everyone!

I love the team logo. Us Latinos need to work together. We should do art trades and maybe give discounts for team member. So proud to be part of this team

I'm so glad that this online community exists! I'm just getting my feet wet in the Etsy world and it's great to see los Latinos come together and help each other. I'm looking for advice and ideas of what works :)
