OK, I'm seeing some sad faces today. What can I do to help? I know everyone is in a different stage of dealing with this emotionally. I had a long time of feeling really crappy and down. I think it changed for me when the announcement came out about resale. I realize in a lot of ways that announcement was just a bunch of BS, but it made me feel hopeful that they're willing to make some changes. Plus, at the same time some people posted here about positive things their senators had said.

So, I'm willing to be a cheerleader for people who need a pick me up today. I'm warning you...I was not a cheerleader in HS, but I'm willing to do it now. I can't do the splits though, I never could.

So, does anyone need to cry or vent or just scream? It might make you feel just a little bit better...

Okay, I'll vent. I was just starting to get things going in my shop. I made a few cute pillowcase type dresses for little girls. I made some hair bows that were cute and of course kid size purses. I'm meeting with a woman in March about putting some of my things in her shop and now. . .I feel like I wasted my time and need to go back to where I started. So much for my baby quilts too. My only idea is to switch gears and market the bows and quilts towards furry kids. I used to make jackets for my pups so maybe that's the way I should go. Who knows...maybe this ISN'T the end.

It is nice that its pulled us all together. I just wonder what's going to happen to us now.

ArtfulMommy...it isn't over yet. I have high hopes that changes will be made that will let you keep on with your plans to sell kids' things. But I think it's great that you have another plan of action in mind in case you need it! (I've toyed with the idea of doing things for dogs, too). :)

Pissed here as well. My hubby asked me if I was sure I was reading everything correctly. True Sugar, it's not over yet and as long as we can show the materials are okay I can't see why we need to test final products. As someone else posted: my sewing machine doesn't inject toxins into my creations.

My home state passed a law quickly that they didn't really think about until the consequences starting rolling in. 9 mos. after it passed they reformed it in an emergency meeting and now it reads as it should have and does what it was first intended to do. I wonder if that is what will happen here also. So keep the faith. The law absolutely can not stand as written. There is no way it will for long.

Sad thing is the consequences will be a devastating as the ones were with the law I mentioned. But I guess the only thing that matters now is that it gets changed. Sooner than later. The class action law suit that is being filed should turn some heads....lol

I'm just sick and tied of being worried about this. My business (website) has taken off to the point where I can support my family. Nt has taken me 4 years to get to this point and I love my "job"/business. Never in a million years did I EVER think this could be taken from me, not even by the government (which never even crossed my mind could happen) I go between, stressed, scared, full of anxiety, to pissed beyond belief :(

I just want this mess over so I can go back to doing what I love, that's all I want!

I go from pissed, depressed, and anxiety ridden too. Mostly I'm in disbelief. Any one I tell about the law can't believe it either.

When I told my hubby about it he said, "that won't apply to you" and "you must have read something wrong"

It's like a bad dream really. I can't believe that it's not getting more media attention. This really does affect more people than they are letting on.

Ya know, I look at my kids and how creative they are, and am saddened that they may not have an opportunity to use their talents either. My dd 11 just fashioned a microphone stand, complete with music holder,and detatchable microphone out of card stock. She's got real talent, that she should be able to use some day to help out her family.

I switch between pissed and sad and pissed again.

I'm a massage therapist and the economy is hitting me hard. I wanted to start an etsy shop to sell my dragons, but then I ran into the CPSIA. I spent a great deal of the day yesterday depressed because I felt like I have the worst timing in the world.

Last night, I signed every petition I could find. I started sending letters. I decided to try to rally people and see if we can't send handmade items en masse to the White House once Obama is in. (You may have seen the thread.) Get noticed by a tsunami of handmade children's products. (Yes, I know it's been done to some congressmen, but I think repeating ourselves will eventually get through thick skulls.)

If that doesn't work...then something else will come to me...I'm not giving up.
