ordering labels or printing my own

So I got an order and need to have labels put on it. I am wondering if I order labels through Miss Label if she makes 50 of the same label or will make 50 with different material descriptions and washing instructions. I don't want to have to order a million tags for just one of my products when they all different. I have never printed a label and don't know if they would look as professional or if I could even do it? Any advice?

First, Congrats on your first sale!! Cute as can be romper..

Quick critique, The zippers and snaps, buttons, jewels and other embellishments will need testing before you can sell the outfits. Zippers need lead in paint, and lead content for the tabs and stops. You need to at the very least have testing certificates from your supply vendors. I don't know if you are registered at Safer Portal, which may help you on some things.

You also need FTC labels on your garments. The FTC labels cover Content and Care. I buy them in bulk from NWTag.com. Their woven labels are quite inexpensive. I also use their woven size labels.

Your CPSIA labels are different. Those you can have printed or order custom woven ones. Currently I print my own on my ink jet printer. The CMYK ink is exempt from testing.

It is very doubtful that any label maker will make all different labels for you. My best advice is to buy a couple of the most common. Like 100% cotton, machine wash cold, hang to dry.

Re: ordering labels or printing my own

I just ordered from Miss Label and all were the same. I found the website very user friendly. They send you a proof for you to accept before printing. I made several changes after the first proof and they sent a second proof, no problem. The labels are not fancy - black on white. I also get standard size labels from Charm Woven Labels. 20 for $3.00.

Re: ordering labels or printing my own

I've been happy with Miss Label as well when I need smaller batches of labels. When I was starting out I did as Beverly mentioned and just ordered a run of the common ones I was using 100% cotton, 100% wool, Rayon inner/cotton outer, etc. The WAHM who runs it used to be in the manufacturing business as well, so she understands the needs of other wahm.
