cpsia tracking label

hi
to cover the cpsia tracking requirement -- can i use a custom iron on label that has all the needed info? is an iron on label considered 'permanent' enough I guess is what I am asking?

for Date of manufacture, can I put 2010 and use them all year?

For those of you struggling on cramming info on your tag, I saw someone put
48170 MI USA to cover city, state, country which I thought was clever.
Thanks for your input on my questions.

Re: cpsia tracking label

Bumping this up.

I printed fabric fusible labels for my item....but I'm afraid they might not stay in place after multiple washings....so I'm planning to stitch around the edges after I fuse them in place.

I'm using Printed Treasures inkjet printable fabric tht is supposed to be machine washable.

Re: cpsia tracking label

Even my sons new underwear had a new label for this! I was surprised and he was annoyed and began ripping it out of each pair. 6 months ago they did not have it.

My point is, you will go through all this trouble to put your labels on and some kid will come along and rip it out because it is uncomfortable or annoying them.

A very valid point. Very few of my son's clothes still have the labels, as he can NOT stand tags. And I'm just not obsessive enough to save the tags and keep track of what they came out of.

It's just like the tags on your pillows that say "do not remove"....I rip those things right out! I think it's the rebellious side of me :o)

Re: cpsia tracking label

Just keep in mind though without tags it is no longer legal to even donate those children's clothing to a charity as children's clothing.

Re: cpsia tracking label

Test it. Iron on some labels on a scrap. Then throw it in every time you do a load and see how well they are staying put. :)
