XRF testing results

So I sent a sampling of my supplies to be XRF tested by a professional in Michigan
(yay for other etsy sellers helping me with this)

I tested fabrics from Michael Miller, Westminster, Alexander Henry, Robert Kaufman, Windham Fabrics, Premier Prints, a Japanese import, and some vintage prints. Along with some buttons (La Mode and some vintage ones that I have) and Stretchrite Elastic...

All came back fine.

0.00 +- 0.02 levels on everything (so aok!)

(needs to be below .6 now and .3 in August)

$15.63

$14/for a 15 minute slot, it took less time than that, but it was billed in 15 minute increments. Plus the s/h of sending me the reports and my samples plus Paypal fee charges.

could you convo or post the name of the place? Good for you that they came back so low, not that you didn't already know they would!

A gal on here set it up with a local (to her) guy. I think she got the awesome pricing because a group of us went together. Not sure though. It's way better than the price I've heard before of $5 per item for XRF testing. I had him test about 50 fabric swatches, plus my stuffing and labels. Cost? $15.42

Where do you look to find someone to do this testing locally. I tried once, but I couldn't find anything. I must have been looking for the wrong thing.

When you sent your samples, how did you mark/identify them as yours? I guess one of my concerns would be having my samples mixed with someone else's. How big were the fabric swatches?

I sent a envelope, that included 1X1 squares of my fabrics and a list of everything that I included with a description (a form was provided) and a sheet that included my name and business name (etc).

Everything was kept together and returned to me in a neat fashion.

The report from the session indicated reading #s and highlighted the #s that were mine, and the #s were also written in on the form I sent that described the samples I had sent.

I'm sure it was a lot of work for those that organized it, but they did a good job.

I know that the tester did the "testing" and that an assistant (I think the etsy seller who organized it) was his scribe.

Doesn't it feel good to know that you've done some testing and everything is okay.... for now? Hopefully component/XRF will be the acceptable testing for good!

~~~That's a great rate. I am curous about the "plus Paypal fee charges" though. Is Ajax who you used or was that just another company?

GoTo - the paypal fees are 3.5% - that's what paypal charges for the transaction.
