We bought ours here on Etsy and are just waiting to receive them but they're pretty simple, .5"x2" wide and they'll feature our logo, city/state and the DOM: (blank) so we can add that ourselves.
The country of origin must always be on the front side of the label. Fiber content and the identity of the manufacturer or dealer may appear on the back of a label. In that case, the label must be attached to the product only at one end so that the reverse side is accessible to the consumer.
So on the front of my label it says
Bebe Chic Boutique 100% Cotton Made in West Frankfort, IL USA of imported fabrics
Sorry to jump right in here (this is actually my first post), but I keep seeing a lot of people post "marking," and was just wondering how exactly one goes about that, since I don't see a button or anything specifically for bookmarking a page or thread.
I also just want to say that there is a lot of good information on here, which I really appreciate. I haven't been open for very long, and don't have any kids' stuff in my shop yet, but probably will have at least a few things later on. Thanks again for the great info!
When you post in a forum, the topic gets saved in your "my topics" . (Go to the main forums page and click on "View topics you've posted in".) People are just making a quick post so it gets saved there, or they are bookmarking it in their browsers.
I make doll clothes, and if it's a dress, the bodice is lined with white cotton fabric. Couldn't I print with a permanent fabric pen the necessary info right onto that lining fabric - until I get my labels ready?
Yes. I'm sure you'd test it to make sure it won't bleed or run. The whole idea behind tags and needing to mark at all is to have a permanent way to identify the required info.
marking. This CPSIA thing is going to drive a lot of home based business out of business or drive up the price of all of the product. There got to be a better way to handle the issue and still protect our children. *sign*
