I decided I won't do kids stuff any more which is no big deal because I concentrate on adult collectibles. But if I was going to stay and try to cope with this buggaboo, I would like to do a second tag that just says: "Time for More Civil Disobedience -- Does the Boston tea Party ring a bell?" We are being overlegislated in so many areas of our lives. Just heard about a "Lifestyle tax" being considered -- about a 200% tax on fast food, pop, candy, movies == basically anything that the average slob does for entertainment. I don't need a mommy -- had one when I was a kid. I am pretty sick about alot of this stuff right now.
I used June Tailor Colorfast Sew-In Inkjet Fabric Sheets from JoAnn's. The item number is JT-961 White Colorfast 10 Pack. I can get 32 labels per sheet using 5.5 pt type. The small print is still very crisp and legible. ====================================================== After you print these labels waterproof after printing?

The fabric labels are not waterproof. Did you perhaps mean colorfast? Instructions for setting the ink and additional laundering instructions are on the back of the product package.
I was wondering that too. Can your labels be washed, BarkingDogDesigns? I need labels that are washable. So I ordered a stamp with all the info. An etsy seller here made it for me. I will then stamp the info on cottontwill tape and sew it into my doll clothes. I ordered an inkpad that works on fabric today. I am still in the experimenting stage but hope it all works out...
The package says printed sheets are hand or machine washable (gentle cycle) in cold water with mild soap if the ink has been heat set with a hot, dry iron.
I have not experimented with washing the labels because my stuffed animals are not washable. However, I did soak one label in water and the print did not run or fade.
What ink are you using, BrakingDogDesigns? So you can buy printer ink that can be heat-set with by ironing? Is it non toxic? I would hate to put a toxic label on my all natural toys...Kind of defeats the purpose..
Etheral, we're talking about labels for children's products under CPSIA rules. You don't have to worry, your beautiful jewelry isn't regulated by this horrible law.
marking---great info---I've been trying out different things to make my labels, but just can't get the right fabric to stamp, thanks for the info on June Tailor
Barking Dog: thank you for understanding my question. Now that I read my own question I sure must have been tired, didn't make sense. At least you knew what I mean't.
