I have talked to one of their representatives who assures me they are aware of the problem. The concerns about knit and crochet toys are about the dye in yarn. I suggested they could put the onus on the yarn companies, They could have the necessary test, and be given a sticker of compliance that would go on the ball band. That wouls solve the problem of those who knit and crochet items, including toys, for children. He tells me they are all ready pursuing that avenue in order to get around this problem. He suggested, however, that everyone write their congressman. Congress wrote and passed the law. The Safety Board has nothing to with that. Their only responsibility is compliance.
