Using Printing Ink on children's Products

From the saferproducts website I saw that printing ink used on the required tags does NOT need to be tested. SO I was wondering if I could use printer ink on the printable fabric sheets and then sew it on fabric or felt to make quiet books etc. ? All items would be for children over 3. Or would this need to be tested?

CMYK printer ink is compliant and is approved, laser ink I don't think is and may not stand up to washing.
