OK so they've ruled that you don't have to put labels on socks...but what about a sock bunny? We've got them in our online store (SO cute) but they'd be super hard to affix a tag too. Just wondering what the general consensus is on that. I couldn't find anything super specific about changing a sock to a toy haha.
exactly! Our sock bunnies are literally like 5" tall max..and they don't have long arms or legs or anything. We might just have to sew it down the side of them or something :(
my baby monkeys luckily, have tails... so i still use the same tagging.
i make an itty bitty 4" monkey that's exclusively for the doll collector market, which are adults, so i forgo the tagging. i sell them exclusively to people i know for their pullips. i can't even imagine if i was to try to tag them
but i'm not sure how you would go about a bunny. i made a bunny for my niece a couple years ago and fastened the tag under the tail.
Would sewing a tag to a collar (made of ribbon, usually) that is tacked by several stitches to the sock dog, cat, or bunny be acceptable, do you think, or does it have to be attached to the body of the animal?
the required tags have to be sewn into the item, they can be cut off by the buyer, but they have to be attached to the item until they get to that point. since a collar may become detached... i don't know that it'd work.
i guess if the collar was part of the actual item, you said it's tacked.
the required labeling has to be permanent and not removable. i'd say iron on, but those looks like they require testing.
Thanks, staceyJEAN. I'm thinking actually stitching the label to the collar, then stitching (rather than tacking) the collar to the animal might do the trick.
Those are possibilities, too, mamaalwayssaid. It's just that having a label stick out from anywhere on the body looks so odd to me; could be it's just a matter of getting used to it. Or finding a shorter shop name, lol!
I was thinking maybe I'd start giving the bunnies pockets under their tail or on their fronts like a kangaroo. Then the label could be right inside the pocket so it would be hidden/not sticking out/not able to be chewed on but still permanent. Would work for tooth fairy pillows too.
