Reselling question/CPSIA

So I make some of my own things to sell, but I will be reselling other people's/company's items too at craft shows and such.

1. What do I need to know when selling things that I did NOT make, when it comes to CPSIA/FTC?

2. What am I required to do?

**I know the rules when it comes to ME making something and selling.

3. But I do not know if things are different (in any way) or what is expected of ME/them when I buy something from a business ( small or big)?

I am sure it's about the same, but I don't know things are different at all? Hard to explain.

I mean, I won't sell things that I don't believe are bad quality.

4. If something has buttons and such, what am I expected to do or get (or anything else) from the other company when buying their items to be compliant with child safety laws when it comes to buttons and such?

I know I CANNOT protect myself 100% but I want to do all I can short of removing the buttons and such, if I can help it.

Thanks,

Re: Reselling question/CPSIA

You will be acting as the retailer of these products made by other people? If so, you will need to ask for a copy of their GCC. The products that you are selling will all have to follow all of the rules of the CPSIA. By you reselling them, you will be liable for anything that is not compliant. So, that is why you will need paperwork from each of the manufacturers.

Re: Reselling question/CPSIA

I will buy their products from them (wholesale at times) and turn around and sell them. I thought it might be the same, but just wasn't sure if everything is the same in that situation. Thanks. I have copies of the test results from the places I buy from.
