Need to show testing now?

I hope someone can help me. I closed my shop while on vacation but deep down I figured I pretty much was closed down period because of the CPSIA stuff.

I made and sold polymer clay beads and such.
But I notice that other sellers are still selling them and I know they know about this law.

I thought I read that there was a "stay" on the law for the next year, although I could be wrong.
I am wondering, if this is true, can I still sell my polymer clay beads for a while? Do I need to test them now or only start testing after the year is up?

Hi, the law itself is still on. It's just that they've granted a stay on testing requirements (for lead). But just be sure your stuff is okay.

Thank you bubbletime! The clay states its non-toxic, but I just don't know if thats enough :(

You should call the manufacturer for more information just to be on the safe side.

Contact your clay manufacturer. It has been publicized that some polymer clays contain phthalates (you can Google for more information). I know that there has been talk of taking phthalates out (this may have already happened - I don't know) - but it's something you definitely need to check into.
