Ok another seller here told me about this letter, and I was trying to research this. Now is this passed or what? I wish they would make everything black and white.. So does this new law not effect yarn? http://www.cpsc.gov/ABOUT/Cpsia/crafts.pdf

CPSIA passed in August 2008. That slideshow is simply a request for exemption. It is not a document from CPSC exempting anything.

At this point, unless things changed today it affects anything made for a child 12 or younger. So it doesn't affect "yarn" persay, But when you use it to make something for a child 12 or younger it does.

humm i know the law passed, i was wondering if the examination passed. I pulled all my childrens items from the store, I won't be making any until the law is exempting yarn. It is a shame really I like making items for little ones. I made tons of things for my 4 and still do, always will. I was hoping that things has changed..

Nothing has officially changed. There has been what seems to be progress in meetings between CPSC and the apparel industry and the book industry. At one of those meetings CPSC chairwoman, Nancy Nord, said that they are very much aware of the harm that will be done to craftspeople and would like to do something about it. But she never did say when.
