Need HELP!..do you know any supplier of buttons?

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for a supplier of buttons for my dresses that is in compliance with the CPSIA...do you know anyone?
I don't want any wood or shells buttons.

The company that manufacturers le bouton tests some buttons but you have to send them a list of buttons you are interested in and they will check against their records.

I am guessing beaded buttons aren't in compliance. :(

I order buttons from Shelley's Buttons and More. You can google their site and then email to ask if they are in compliance for what you need. They are the cheapest that I have found.

I use Dill buttons for some of my items. I just contacted them after looking up the item# on their website and they sent certificates via email.

I've ordered buttons from www.buttondrawer.com before and was pleased with their service. I don't know if they'd be CPSIA compliant, but these are the brands they carry: JHB International, Dill Buttons, Treasure Cast, Blumenthal Lansing.

hey there,

just a heads up - i'm not a lawyer and i'm just tryin to make the best sense outta the cpsia as i can, but from what i understand component testing isn't allowed just yet for the cpsia.

meaning if the manufacturer of the buttons had them tested and provided certificates that they're lead free it doesn't matter, you'd still have to get your final product tested. once component testing is allowed you can use the manufacturer's certification and that would be enough.

at least that's what i'm understanding...

I was thought what heartsandlaserbeams said was true as well. You still have to get the overall product tested even if you have certificates.
