Let's make sure I have this right...

I currently have a CPSIA label which I attach to all my items. It looks like this:

FRONT:
Name
Website
Handmade in : Jenks,OK, USA of imported fabric

BACK:
Fiber Content (which is 100% cotton exclusive of decoration, in the case I put a bit of tulle on the item)
Care Instructions
Manufacture Date - which is done as follows (I stitch under the appropriate month/year:
11JFMAMJJASOND12

But I realize now that I need an FTC label as well that contains fiber content and care instructions. Anything else the FTC label HAS to have? And can I stack them? Or do I have to sew them side-by-side?

Lastly, I've added Child Of Mine Bodysuits to my product line, which I embellish with different fabrics. These bodysuits have the appropriate CPSIA and FTC tags from Child of Mine. Can I just affix my labels as well since I'm only adding fabric? They have snaps, but they were added by Child of Mine and have the appropriate labels. Do I have to get them tested as well since Child of Mine would have already done this and I didn't add anything that wasn't exempt (just fabric)?

My head is spinning now. :)

As to the CPSIA labels that also contain the FTC care and content label information, you are giving the gov. all the info they are asking for. They haven't said that you need 2 seperate labels or that you can combine them. I'd go with what you have. Remember they can kill you, but they won't eat you!!

I happen to use both, plus size labels, because mine are single sided, and I already have the CPSIA label printed, and I use woven FTC and size labels. I don't stack them, I put the CPSIA label above and sew the FTC and size labels to the bottom edge. Then I sew them as a unit on to the facing.

The bodysuits will just use your CPSIA label over the top of the existing labels. Don't remove the Child of MIne labels.

Are you able to get the testing info from the manufacturer of the bodysuits? I would want to have that on file to proove they are doing their job. And am halfway thinking you are requried to have it since it would be a supply so it would fall under the same cat as anything like buttons or anything of that nature.
