Is It True

I've read that if you sell items intended for 3+ years you don't need to get your items tested. Is this true?

Re: Is It True

Daisy, Generally, if you are a registered small batch manufacture, you do not have to test for those regulations on list B.but those regulations on list A you must test for unless you have testing certificates from your suppliers. But toys for under 36 months babies will need testing . BUT YOU CAN NEVER SELL ANYTHING THAT WILL NOT PASS TESTING , SO EVEN IF YOU HAVE AN EXEMPTION OR A CERTIFICATE FROM YOUR SUPPLIER, YOU HAVE TO BE 100% SURE IT IS SAFE. So, depending on what you make and what supplies you use, you may not need testing. I make clothing and I know that my fabrics meet flammability regulations by weight and fiber content, any buttons, snaps, zippers have certificates of testing. Question 1, are you registered and what do you make?
