Important Update. We are being heard, but this is not over!

I just received a copy of a letter sent from Congressmen Joe Barton and George Radonovich to The Honorable Henry A. Waxman, Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce.

They have received 1000s of letters and emails, and are citing the cause of the independent producer. They are calling for a hearing to advocate a delay in implementation of the law, a "fine tuning" of the policies.

That said, nothing has changed yet! More than ever you need to keep those Emails and Calls coming to Henry Waxman and the Committee on Energy and Commerce coming!

Me? I just got an aide and quickly told her to pas on that I'd appreciate if he worked to improve it so it didn't put small businesses like me out of business.

Thanks for the update Matt. I have written to both Joe Barton and Congressman Waxman and Congressman Booby Rush. While I have heard back, I hopr mine is one of the thousands of letters they are receiving!

We have to keep up the pressure!

Senator Jim Bunning (KY) assures me that he "will keep an eye on the Commission's actions and keep [my] concerns in mind should the Senate consider any legislation regarding this matter."

Well, it's about all I could expect from him, I suppose.

His letter was as generic as any other response I've ever received from my representatives. Although this was one positive, as opposed to the old, "I appreciate your input but no."

Hi No this is not over. I had a great idea i am going to email all of my customers from last year a few hundred. with petition links the link from www.handmadetoyalliance.org with the sample letter for senators and congressmen info and waxmans number i think we all should do this to get the support of our cuatomers so that more voices will be heard.

Just told him I was a 65 year old grandmother and that this law would put me and thousands and thousands and thousands of small home-based businesses out of business on Feb 10th. Small home-based businesses that use that little bit of money each month to put food on the table.

I did mail all the congressional aides this morning :) The only message that bounced back was from josh.connolly@mail.house.gov so hopefully the message will be passed on the the appropriate Congressman or Senator!

On a side note: I have never been so wrapped up in a political issue as I have been on this one!
