Important Update. We are being heard, but this is not over!

I just received a copy of a letter sent from Congressmen Joe Barton and George Radonovich to The Honorable Henry A. Waxman, Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce.

They have received 1000s of letters and emails, and are citing the cause of the independent producer. They are calling for a hearing to advocate a delay in implementation of the law, a "fine tuning" of the policies.

That said, nothing has changed yet! More than ever you need to keep those Emails and Calls coming to Henry Waxman and the Committee on Energy and Commerce coming!

It is obvious that the CPSA and the gov't are screwed because of this law, because it is so encompassing of EVERYTHING found in EVERYTHING what are they going to do?

Julianne, that is so true I've been thinking about that too shouldn't everything that is usually in a pharmacy be certified by the 10th? I mean 12 year olds aren't babies after all some already have to use "adult" hygeine items like deodorant and other products as well

Wow Trendy, I hadn't even thought of that. Razors, shampoos, tampons. For that matter, a lot of women's clothing as well because I know many 12 year olds who are bigger than me! I'm guessing most of these things are already tested for many things, but do they meet standards?

Maybe I'm exaggerating on some of these items, but it's true, 12 years old hardly falls into the children's category in most areas these day.

Trendy that's a good point, my kids have been using adult personal care items since they were maybe 6 or 8 years old.

And they've both been using deodorant since they were about 11....and 13 y.o. DS has been in some adult clothes for a couple years now....not to mention IIRC the original lead laws were made for kids THREE and under! What, do they think all under-12s and their parents have suddenly become mentally incompetent???

Well, and what I dont get, is I also sell adult blankets.. made EXACTLY the same was as kids... so what, suddenly a 12 year old is more important in their safety than an adult? Its not like either one of them are chewing on the corner... I dunno... this is just so outta control...

I'm not fooled...I'm still out there sending mail, email, phoning everyone and his brother. It ain't over til the Fluffy (fat in past years)LADY sings and baby she ain't singing. Grandma says its not real til I see it in writing--the bill and changes I mean. Thanks for keeping us in the loop MATT...great job.
