I haven't read all the forum threads on the CPSIA new law that will go into effect in February, but the ones I have read have made my heart sink! I'm not affected by this law, but I very much love handmade children's items and I myself have 3 little kiddos.

If you're a shop/seller that will be affected by this new law and you are scrambling to unload your inventory before the February deadline, please POST HERE in this thread so we can compile a long list of sellers.....this way I can shop, shop, shop in your shops and others here on Etsy who want to help but don't know how can also know who to buy from. This is my small way of helping by supporting you all from a buyers standpoint and also come alongside you from a fellow seller's standpoint. I love to buy children's gifts for lots of friends who have baby showers and I also love unique items for my own kids too. Please post your shop so we can support you!

So let's get some support going for you (and encouragement too) and hopefully you can make some sales during this very difficult time.

everyone can sign this petition. I hope that it in it's small way will help as well.

but not only will this law effect toys and childrens clothes but also vintage and used clothes and many other items including books!

we need to get our voices heard and amend this law right away to make exceptions.

Thank goodness a kind Etsy seller informed me of this insanity. I am writing my Reps today.

I would like to know if anyone can tell me if I will be affected. I purchase already made umbrella (items already sold to/for children) then I decorate them and resell them on Etsy.

Most of my infant and childrens items expire this month and I'm not planning to renew them if they don't sell. I hope this law is ammended.

but it states that if the government fears the people then there will be liberty but when the people fear the government there is opression -no liberty....
I wish shops would stay in business as a protest, and not just give up. =(

....and just think of all the laws (ex: slavery, native American slaughter and imprisonment, etc) that were once and are no more. If everyone would have just excepted it where would be now. We must stand against this - like people have through time against things that are wrong, government issued or not - the law is wrong and we should stand, not just go quietly into the night.
