Has anyone written a snail mail to Obama?

Our president reads 10 letters from US citizens every day. Has anyone written to him? I think it's been mentioned a few times before but I'm wondering if anyone's actually done it. If so what was the response? That thing on NBC the other day where the reporter followed Obama around for a day said the first thing his secretary does every morning is type up his responses to the letters he read the night before.

Can this be one of those things where we pick a day for a large group of us to flood his office with letters? Why not July 4th? Independence Day, right? We need to declare our independence from CPSIA and take back our right to create safe items for children without the fear of being legislated out of business. If we send enough all at once maybe at least one or two will get through on a given day, maybe even several days in a row. What do you think?

I know people have said Obama is part of the problem, he's one of the legislators that voted for CPSIA when he was in the Senate, but maybe like most of Congress he didn't really understand what he was voting on. Maybe it's up to us to educate him on the damage this law is doing and will do. One of his stated goals for his presidency has been to get this country out of the economic trouble it's in, maybe if we help him understand that CPSIA directly contradicts that goal he'll see that he needs to help us fix it. His inaugural address specifically mentioned small businesses being the backbone of the economy, didn't it? Not in so many words, but it was something similar....

news media did touch it, but even when I was listening to Sean Hannity, and Glenn Beck (news radio always on while crafting) I wasn't really sure I understood it, or if they understood what they were actually talking about.

There's a bunch of important bills out there, that's on the verge of passing that restrict rights and hurt business.

VSA? I think is going to demand lower fuel emissions which is going to cause the price of power and energy to go up. Because we can't have messy, but cheap coal plants, and if we can't have coal plants the energy has to come from somewhere which means taking the 5 cent increase from wind & solar. USA is dependant on two things to function, Energy + Oil. A little here, a little there, eventually you'll be crafting in the dark or outside in the sun because you can't afford to turn on a light bulb. Well.. in theory. I don't believe everything they tell me. :)

VAT... I like the idea, means those dirty mexicans that slip in the border and don't pay taxes will be paying for their own medical bills!

Have to make certain they get rid of income tax, business tax and all that other garbage.

I still get no reply from my senators or congressmen here in Western New York. Lets make it really easy and just get rid of the politicans. I admit it would take one big tough GLAD bag to take that one to the curb! Remember we voted for change!

Not another problem bill? Crap... can't turn on the TV anymore... end up not sleeping for a week I get so nervous... all the things that are happening lately are enough to make your insides go on self-destruct mode... I hadn't heard about this one.

No, I don't believe the president cares. Not when he uses tax payer money to the tune of 22 grand for a night on the town with his wife in New York. (while the rest of us can barely afford to go to the local movies and for pizza on a friday night.) He says things like Americans won't be able to buy SUVs and keep their houses at 72 degrees but he isn't willing to be one of the regular people who cut back... he's above all of that. It's putrid. All he does is spend taxpayer money, get us into more wars and try to run our economy into the ground in whatever manners he can. I bet you won't see his precious daughters driving those horrid little deathtrap SmartCars when they get old enough to drive, but he wants ours to.

Look I know this is frustrating, but its important to remember that this bill exists for the safety of CHILDREN. And i realize how negatively it is affecting small business, but the people making the bill are thinking of ways to keep lead out of children's mouths, and off their body. So, I'm all for writing letters and emails and trying to get our small voices heard, but try to put it into perspective. No one is out of get you or purposively taking your lively hood away, its the first step to children's safety, we just need to be there to help them sort out the details.

I think the main issue is that No one in government has taken into consideration the massive ramifications a bill like this has on the little people. Our voices are small. I do think he would care. How could he not? I think blaming this president for something the previous did is kinda of silly. With everything else that has been spiraling out of control can you blame him?

Sucker I agree with you as well. I think the point of the law is understandable. I think its implementation is questionable at best. I do not think anyone really knows how it will be handled and new things just keep popping up.
