Found some examples of tracking labels

My 5 yr old daughter had a great idea to make our own toys and then donate them to children in need. I thought it was a great idea but knew that I'd have to do research to make sure I am compliant with CPSIA. Man, what a headache that is! Ugh!

Anyways, I figured out the exempt materials, but what had me scratching my head was how to make the label and what to put on it. I just found a great website that has some examples of labels and thought I would share.

artladymanor, I sympaththize with you. Doing something simple shouldn't be so complex, but it is in this case.

If you are making fabric-type items with exempt materials, you still may need to add FTC labels as well as CPSIA labels. You see them on pillows, for example...the familiar "Do not remove" tag.

knitwit4ever: According to this article i found online, I wouldn't need to put an FTC label on the toy since I won't be selling any of them. Just giving them away.

If that's the case, I think making toys to donate is still doable. If not, then I give up!

I just got some made, when they arrive I will share my pics too. I since right now I'm doing small runs I am using a nontoxic fabric pen to write my tracking on them.
