Lots of folks are just discovering how the CPSIA affects them. This post is intended to help you find the info you need all in one place.

If you make any product intended for children ages 12 and under, you need to read this thread. In it you will find important links to give you information straight from the source, the CPSC.

First of all, you can go to the CPSC website and add yourself to their email list so that you will get all the updated information directly to your email. This is very helpful, as the CPSC issues new statements and guidelines quite often. You won't have to search for the answers because they come directly to your email!

I just received the certificate from Avery in regards to the t shirt transfers. I asked about them specifically by product number. I use the paper that you print on with an ink jet printer, then iron on to the fabric. Heres a portion of it:
"..Most products manufactured or imported by Avery Dennison are articles and therefore not currently subject to regulations. Those Avery Dennison products that contain chemicals, namely Glue Stic® glue sticks, Marks-A-Lot® markers, Hi-Liter® highlighters, Carter’s® stamp pads, and Avery® T-shirt transfers, have been reviewed by a toxicologist and certified for use of the Arts and Creative Materials Institute (ACMI) seal. The CPSC accepts the ACMI seal as certification of conformance to its regulations for these products.

As enforcement dates under the CPSIA occur, appropriate certifications for affected products will be posted on Avery Dennison’s Partners.com website, located at https://partners.avery.com/index.jsp , under “Product Information” and “Certificates of Compliance”. In the future, please refer to this website page for all product certifications required by Federal or State regulations.

For its regulated products, Avery Dennison retains the laboratory testing services of:

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc.
100 Northpointe Pkwy.
Buffalo, NY 14228
716 505 3300 .."

I'm assuming this means they are compliant with the CPSIA requirements.

Has there been any extensions on the Law??? Or is everything going in effect come Feb 9th, 2010????

BellaPrincess the lead testing portion got extended through 2011 as of about a month ago. The labeling has been in effect however so you DO need to follow that.

You still have to have test results for lead and phthalates from your suppliers but there is a stay on final product testing....

Just wanna say thanks to all of those who have been answering questions and adding links to all the new info out there.
