Re: Consequences of the CPSIA

I do not think Musicians would fall into that category. I do not know maybe. I would think not because that then would mean DVDs. Disney must be taking a big hit.

Can't share family's heirloom with own children and grand children.

Not good with "go green" that whole earth are trying to go with.

Re: Consequences of the CPSIA

I live in MN...my community has a "Coats for Kids" program. People donate used winter coats for families that can't afford them. If you don't live in a cold climate you probably don't know how expensive winter coats can be. What's going to happen to that?

Here's the info on American Printing House for the Blind:
http://www.aph.org/index.htm

It's based in Kentucky and has provided braille materials for the blind for 150 years!

This includes a braille version of Weekly Reader: http://www.aph.org/products/magsubsc.htm

* Newspapers can no longer do their "newspapers in education" programs as they will have to have each day's print run third party tested for lead.

Re: Consequences of the CPSIA

In addition to the above points,

With limited donations possible to thrift stores, charities that rely on the thrift stores will be negatively impacted, thus increasing their need for looking to government funding to subsidize their funding.

Re: Consequences of the CPSIA

*oops* last word should be been programs. Sorry, I just realized I used "funding" twice.

I don't make any products intended for children, but frequently donate clothing my own children have outgrown to thrift stores and our church so that other children can benefit. Now, what are parents supposed to do with outgrown clothing? Are we to simply discard it, thus adding to an already growing landfill problem?
