I provide an editioning service for other artists. I print the intaglio work and a colleague produces the relief prints.
BUT – the artist has already produced the plate to be printed before I produce the print run. The intaglio plate could be an etching, an engraving, photo etching, drypoint or collagraph. Most of these processes are very autographic, and I would prefer you to learn how to do that yourself – otherwise the work wouldn't be solely yours. The printmaker would get a credit as a contributing artist rather than just as the technician.
If you want a printmaker to produce the plate for you, this really is a collaboration process, rather than an editioning service. You would need to work closely with the printmaker at every stage of the plate production. You will need to go to a print workshop close to you (or to an individual practitioner willing to collaborate). I’m in the UK so no use to you. I don’t know what the market rate for collaboration would be, but for one to one tuition and for the editioning service I charge £35 per hour. This is not a very wealthy part of the UK, the going rate may well be much more in other areas.
