Heads up for those using Etsy insurance

Great... I just read the FAQs for U-pic, Etsy's insurance provider. They DO NOT cover paintings/fine art.

So all you fine artists, better use USPS insurance, as they will cover it. U-pic will not. So, I guess it's back to printing labels on-line thru the PO. More expensive, but Etsy's insurance appears to be useless for painters, printmakers, et. al.

Re: Heads up for those using Etsy insurance

Thanks for the Heads Up on this! I had no idea and was about to open up to more international business, where I have found USPS prohibitively expensive.
I guess leaving it up to the buyer might be best to cover the increased cost of going USPS.

Re: Heads up for those using Etsy insurance

UPDATE:
At first, I was extremely leery of using U-Pic, as the wording was very much a gray area. I am happy to report, I insured a $650. original silkscreen print thru them. The print was destroyed by the USPS. After taking all the steps to file a claim, about three weeks later I received a check covering the amount of the sale. No problems, no hassles with them.
