confused about url

Hello,
I'm setting up my indiemade shop in preparation for leaving Etsy. I'm not that computer savvy and confused:

If I enter the url: https://feltedfriends.indiemade.com my store comes up.
But if I enter www.feltedfriends.indiemade.com it does not.

If I google 'feltedfriends' and 'indiemade' nothing is found?

I'm concerned that buyers knowing only my name, and the fact that I'm on indiemade, aren't going to be able to find me. Is this just the way it is, or am I doing something wrong?

thanks!

Re: confused about url

Indiemade stores don't have www in front of them. I don't know the technical reason but it's just how the URLs are set up. What most people do is buy their own domain name - in your case FeltedFriends.com and have it redirect to the site so they don't even use the Indiemade domain. That's something you can do later if you decide to move forward.

As for Google, that just takes a little time and content. Once you're happy with the site, go here: https://www.google.com/search?q=submit+url+to+google and submit your URL. That will help kickstart the Google indexing. But just know that indexing can take a few weeks. If you update regularly with a blog post or news, that will help Google find you faster. Re: confused about url

Thanks Cynthia - I really appreciate how responsive you and the support staff at indiemade have been. Very unlike Etsy,
Frances
